hahaha it was right next to a south facing window and getting plenty of light already! I had to remove some of the middle leaves due to thrip damage but hoping it's gonna bounce back now
@@lunarloadinternode spacing for monsteras has a different meaning than light exposure. Longer internodes for albos meaning small leaf forms whereas short internodes means larger leaf form. It’s the genetics make up of that plant species.
I was given two snake plants that are 4 foot tall. All the ones I see on RU-vid are no more then two feet. What can I do to make these plants healthy. Also when I reported from the ugly plastic pots they came in and added miracle grow I am now infested with gnats. I've only watered once in the two months I've had the plants with a peroxide water mix. Used Miracle grow when I repotted. Bought mosquito bits but waiting for plant to get good and dry, is this right to rid myself of the gnats? And what do I do about this plant growing so tall. I have it in front of a window, but have no idea where the previous person has it
Oh no, not gnats! Luckily it's an easier problem to fix compared to other pests. I'd move the plant outside in a shaded area so the plant gets more light and would allow the soil to completely dry much faster. Gnats possibly could have occured because after watering, the soil wasn't drying up too fast. If you have your plant in a low light area, it wouldn't require much water.
@@_thevibespace unfortunately taking it outside is an issue as my apartment is on the third floor and is way too heavy to move far. Going to b going away for a week next week so hoping to put mosquito bit on just before I leave and let the apartment get hot so the plant will dry out and the adults get stuck on the sticky strips. They are tricky, thought I got got rid of them, wasn't bothered for three days then they came back with vengeance. Waiting til next week just before I leave to add more mosquito bit, don't want to make it to moist. I put some on about a week ago but the soil is still damp halfway down.
My other issue is "I don't have enough room" then I put a ton outside for summer and think "I can totally fit more!" Then I bring them in again and the cycle continues 🫠
hahaha I have that problem too! I have a ton of plants on my balcony this summer but not sure how I'm gonna fit them all in once fall arrives. But that's a future me problem 😆
@_thevibespace NO!!! If the leaves start to become plyable you are not watering nearly enough! I water when the top half to 1 inch is dry. I also bottom water. I always use water with acidic plant fertilizer, like for orchids, and I will give it no more than 10min to soak up what it wants. Usually if it's in a 4" pot, I will bottom water between a quarter and 1/3 cup and it takes it all. My hoyas in soil usually get watered 1-2 times per week. A lot of my hoyas and monstera are semi-hydro and those ones I keep a very thin layer of water at the bottom. The hoyas will easily root rot once the roots start growing out of the bottom so I make sure those roots don't get submerged. Hoyas like to be root bound. Hope this helps.
I'm planning to repot my Monstera albo and glad that I found this video coz I don't have much idea on how to go about it... BTW the little girl is so adorable 😍
It depends if it's already mature of not. I have a smaller whale fin and it's not gonna grow any bigger. If it's been one year, most likely thats the biggest it'll get.
That square planter is gorgeous! It's like something you'd see in a hair salon in the 80s. 😅 I'm sure those are long gone at my Target. I went about a month ago and they mainly had plastic planters and those ugly ceramic ones with the faces.
Yeah those ones were the unique ones in the collection and I was diggin' the retro vibe. Won't hurt to stop by different Targets or give them a call because sometimes the website isn't updated with what they have in stores
Why did I look at this? Ugh. At 50% it’s so tempting to get them all. I saw your IG with the rotating planter and I have one of those and the bubble. Glad that I bought the monstera mat a while back before they sold out
Glad you got them earlier because now that they are 50% off, its slim pickings in stores with leftovers. I love my rotating planter though & glad I was able to get more
I do too that's why I had to get both of them. Even better because you can water the plants directly into the planter since it has a drainage hole and built in drip tray in the stand
In the video I said 30% off but NOW they are 50% off! They are beginning to phase out the collection so check our local Target if any are still available
