Hi, tysm for sharing! I'm having trouble mapping layer efx. For example, once I map layer 1 efx knobs on the 3rd row, it will only control layer 1 efx, and not other layers. What should I do??
Wow a new channel, every single top tech RU-vidr started out like this, your're doing well but there still are things You can improve in, for instance setting your camera to manual focus because it was out of focus for a long period of time Also have more shots of your device, take your camera nad pan around your device with a window or light source on your right of the device and if your camera has good HDR have the light source behind it
I use my launchcontrol XL for making music and since I’m building a synth right now I was checking out midi mapping and midi feedback on it. This whole video had absolutely nothing to do with what I was looking for, but now I’m stuck in a Resolume rabbit hole, because clearly I need this in my life 👌✨ great video!
Hi. So few videos about this. Thanks. Wondering what you are using now? Same setup? And are you using Arena or Avenue? Does Avenue let you midi map if you are using Arena?
i know im asking randomly but does anyone know a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid forgot the login password. I love any tricks you can offer me!
@Spencer Khalid Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site thru google and Im in the hacking process now. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Thanks for the video. Very helpful! I noticed on your top row of knobs, you had some video controls set such as play forward, backwards, etc. as well as other video controls like beatlooper. Are these controls set up globally so that they are applied to whatever clip is currently active and only that one (one at a time)? Did you do this using application midi map instead of composition midi map? Thanks!
Hey Im learning to VJ completely self taught and im having some trouble with getting my visuals to react to live music out of the Djs decks i was wondering if you could help me or explain how you do it.
I don't have any experience connecting visual to DJ decks. But if you're using Resolume, you can look into DocOptic's tutorial to learn how to make visuals react to either the beat or your audio input (i.e. microphone).
I use the APC at a club and even then I don't use the buttons for triggering clips, I just set it to toggle FX. It's all preference though, like EVERYTHING in VJing, there's no right or wrong. I prefer to use a mouse to select clips because, with my setup, using any MIDI controller for triggering clips would be very inefficient. I have several decks in Resolume and they all have over 80 column, there aren't enough MIDI buttons on any controller to map every single clip in a deck. With a mouse, I can be in full control of my performance and quickly navigate through Resolume, previewing clips and quickly selecting new clips to play. I can also quickly navigate through a deck with the scroll wheel and easily choose a new deck. I understand the point of using a MIDI buttons for clip triggering, like with the Novation Launchpad, if you're working with a pre-programmed show with a big DJ (for example, Comix uses the Novation Launchpad and Launch Controller XL since it fits perfectly with what they do), and you have one deck with enough MIDI buttons to map every clip you have. But in my case, I'm always improvising and going through tens of hundreds of loops each night, I need to be fast and efficient in my clip selection. And that's what I get with a mouse. Hope that answers your question David. Connect with me on Facebook: facebook.com/vjhashtag/
Cool, thx a lot for you in deep explanation. I had the same problems that launching clips with buttons doesnt make a lot sens in my case. Normally I do sets running 8 hours (fitness event) so I need to replace my clips and have to look at my computer screen anyway, so I use the mouse a lot more than the buttons on my APC20.
