So great that this footage exists - Slade as I remember them, the first band I called myself a fan of, and the heaviest I ever saw live. They rocked, and we stomped!
Just think if they had left the glam fashion crap alone they could have been way bigger and taken more seriously.....such a great band. Noddy Holder as a frontman just gets so overlooked.
I barely saw or heard of slade in so cal. we got to see everyone usually, many bands to choose from with bells and whistles for their L.A. shows. slade positively jams with material from other people, excellent show.
De L.S.D je me souviens de concerts , fin des années 80, où des skins voulaient rentrés et se retrouver pourchasser par une meute de punks sur les parkings. J'était dans cette mouvance aussi , mais avec les années et surtout grâce à internet (Dieu Internet) je me rend compte O combien on avait torts. Les Bérus contrairement au Souris Déglingués faisait la chasse aux Skins, ils avaient même un service d'ordre dédiés à ça. Et je crois que ça a un peu fausser la façon de voir ces groupes qu'on croyaient tous mouler dans le même moule (de gauche, anti Skins, non raciste etc...) Alors qu'il-y-avait des Skins qui n'étaient pas racistes .. juste anti Communiste. C'est pour eux que chanter des Groupes comme L.S.D ou Camera Silens. L'époque était enfantine en fait , car bien sûr aller voir L.S.D c'était pas comme aller voir les Shériffs ou les Wampas. On faisaient pas mal les Autruches les punks de l'époque , car quand même si c'est pas de la Oï musique les Paroles de Saint Sauveur je ne sais pas ce que c'est .... Ces mecs étaient énormes .Joie de jouer et de ne pas se prendre aux sérieux .Distiller du bonheur à leurs publiques en jouant tout simplement du rock avec des tenues vestimentaires, disons plus proches d'épouvantail à moineaux que de tenue de dandy . Qu'importe ,ce band a donné un plaisir incroyable au début des années 70'.Leurs Live de 1982 "Slade On Stage" est une tuerie !
I got down & got with it at the time & now, I still, aged 63, keep on rocking to the fantastic sound they made... not to forget the great tunes in amongst the wall of sound. This gig is mainly covers, but obviously, it was the start of the shape of things to come with Holder/Lea partnership. Slade... not just for Christmas.

This has completely taken over me I don't know what it is that is so mesmerizing the black and white footage how young they are the fact that they were truly could be seen as the first heavy metal band despite this clearly showing them as a hard-core raw blues band whatever it is thank you this has made an impact on my soul
По сравнению с пресловутым Моргенштерном... SLADE поёт, а "моргенштерн" только в микрофон пукает. Всю Россию провонял этот удмурт. Ну и пусть чалится за границей!.. А Слейду слава.
Did optical recording mainly exist as optical audio tracks on a typical distribution film? I can see advanteges with a pure film medium compared to a distribution film with glued on magnetic audio track(s). Just needed the optical "audio printer/writer". Was most cinemas equipped with optical audio reader on the film machine (projector)?
@@ralorpa Optical is the traditional audio format for film. By the 60s/70s Kinescope/Telerecording was usually done to sell programmes to TV abroad, often to countries with lower levels of technology. They were not generally screened in cinemas! Some TV companies such as the BBC would sometimes send a separate magnetic soundtrack out which could be synced with the optical audio but often the optical audio is all there is. When programmes come back from overseas they are generally only with the optical audio. This causes a problem with processes like VidFIRE which is meant to restore the fluid Video Motion look to old television, as the obviously filmy sound gives the game away that it's not really a VT copy.
