If you have a power supply with a sag function or just a 9v battery on the brink of death you can get another sound from the SF. The gated, splatty, velcro-rip in fuzzes with bias knobs comes from starving the circuit of voltage. Giving it 5v instead of 9 is the extra super secret mode.
You can buy an expensive looper OR buy a multi effects pedal that has one. Then you can use any guitar effect with it. Looper pedals do not usually come w effects ( reverse and 1/2 speed an indication of their uselesness imo) so one usually combines the looper w an effects pedal anyway. My Zoom effects pedal has a bank which combines a drum machine, a looper and guitar effects ( which i can change).
Did you just show the internet how to replace a 9V battery? If someone needs instructions on that, they need to stay away from the internet and learn to stop sucking their thumb.
I had one once and gave it away. Lots tricks and one button. Felt I needed a degree and years of practice. Felt very un-natural. I bought something much simpler. 😊
I have the Boss ME 90. It has an effects loop. It has a single 1/4" input and stereo 1/4" outputs. I also have the Boss RC 300. It has R / L 1/4" stereo outputs How would i connect my looper to the ME 90 if the looper is stereo? Is just the mono connection sufficient? I'm wanting to loop a dry signal and add / remove effects to experiment with. How do I achieve this, please?

You just can´t make a negative remark without saying "but is not a big deal" are you afraid they´re not gonna pay you for the payd ad you produced dressed like a "review" ?? , come on, don´t underestimate your viewers inteligence. If something is terribly wrong like having to disasemble the pedal to access the moduation parameter pots, they could have put them on the side, like you said, but just adding "is not a big deal" on every negatve remark really turns the issue in a bigger deal.
@andrewsiemon have you ever seen/ heard the intro to Going Home by Alvin Lee and Tenyears After at the original Woodstock? For a long time at the Smithsonian they had an installation where you walked into a room and it said basically..." the definition of rock and roll" and you hit a button and it gave you an on-stage view of Alvin Lee opening for Woodstock... you get hit with this wall of sound produced by giant Altec speakers. One of the most impressive guitar intros ever definitely competing with Eddie's Unchained it's a handful to play and I'm trying it on a Strat right now... I may switch to a PRS Google it on RU-vid if you're interested it's easy to find that is if you don't already know it
You can silently delete a loop without the extension pedal in play or overdub modes.. just hold down the RC-1 Pedal on the second press. This function is demoed in an excellent tutorial and demo for the RC-1 on channel: Equipboard.
Nice video. I have the old black Whammy II pedal and Ive also had the XP-100 Whammy/Wah. Have you tried any more versions than the one you have? They all sound a bit different.
@@andrewsiemon Yeah the original WH-1 and the Whammy II both have the same chip inside them built by a company called IVL. None of the later models I tried sound as good(not saying they suck but they really dont sound the same). The Whammy II has the same chip but for some stupid reason has an added input vol knob which makes it not work as good as the WH-1. I actually did have an original WH-1 for a while but it had some sort of unfixable issue and it crapped out after like 5 min of being plugged in. I told the guy who bought it off me about it but he wanted it anyway. You should keep your eyes out for an XP-100. To my ears it sounds a lot better than the Whammy 4 and its probably not gonna be super expensive if you come across one.
@@andrewsiemon I used to have a small collection of pedals with about 60 or 70 ones mostly from the 70s 80s and 90s. I sold off most of it about 10 years ago but kept the Whammy II and a few other favourites including a Boss Hyper Fuzz and a semi-broken PS-3 Pitch Shifter/Delay.
Thanks for the video it was very helpful, although Im not sure why people think that having true bypass on a pedal is a good thing, i find they just suck treble, anyway cheers.

I've got a problem a bit technical with loop station. I make this question in a Guitar Channel, because lot of people, also in shops of effects, couldn't answer to this question: I've got a Boss RC 30. It is nice.. but... i can't change the memories(or patches) with the pedal. So.. i've tried an external pedal as switch, but it's not useful... also with original Boss pedal, for changing memories, you should take pressed the pedal for some seconds(hold down for some seconds), and when it start... it start to go up quickly...for example 2,3,4, 10... It's impossible to be precise during a medium difficulties execution with guitar. In fact.. i've found nobody in internet that can make it, in that way.. with this setup. I must play a song with a singer. In this songs i need to change 3 different memories, 3 different pre-recorded backing guitar that i record before the concert, and all the executions must be done at metronome that i have on my headphones. I need to change memories(or patches) with a single touch, to stay "in time" with the song. I've whatched some bigger Loop Stations.. but.. they are expensive, and some changes lot of "tracks" with pedal, not the "memories". It is different, for example: if i can change 4 tracks, i can overwrite 4 different part.. but i'm playing always the same "memory". I dont need so much tracks, effects, or things like this.. i only need to change the memories(or loops, i don't know how you call this) in a easier and quicker way. One question: Do you know the cheepest way to have something that can change the memories, pre recorded, with a "single push" on pedal? With RC30 or with another loop station? It would be the only solution for me. Minimum 3? Thanks in Advance.
Very helpful thanks. If your looper has a volume on it, and it's a full bypass pedal, does that work the same as your volume actuator at the end of the fx loop?
That pedal is money!! Sounds great by itself, clean boosted with a Klon, or as a boost for about any distortion pedal. I've used it to push an ODR-1, 5150 Overdrive, and a Revv G3. You can't get a bad tone out if it.
I think that the Boss power stack ST- 2 works realky good for that hi-gain distortion that you wanna have for some especific stuff and the Pro-co's Rat are some good hi gain pedals to recomend.
BOSS is practically a guarantee of quality but I like my pedals to look really cool. I’ve been looking at the Brelliot TODP. Saw this other RU-vidr guy say it was amazing. Have you ever heard of it?
Gate must be fast. Doesn't matter how much it cost. Every each got threshold knob so when you turn it down you don't gate it too quickly. This gate even on quick setting is few times too slow for djent. Hard knob equals less threshold and your sustained notes will ring fully. And that speed of gate plus how it cuts and when is what costs there. As well position of gate in chain changes a lot. Try it in effects loops as well. May turn out one rack mount expensive stereo gate is best cuz it can do input and loop at the same time and got separate attack and release knobs. Used on ebay often cost you peanuts. When u get pro gate you will record another video, knowing how much you didn't knew to say gate don't need to be expensive and what is difference in usage of double gate vs something like that. Especially for fast riffs with pauses. On the other hand, you got volume knob and better use this and pauses you can cut out in post.
i have that blackstar but mk1, i do love how it sounds, even at low volumes, only thing i dont like is the clean channel is super volume compared to the dirt channel, so if you take it to rehearsal the clean channel won't ever be heard and that leaves you only with the dirt channel, i do think it's a hustle having four cables to use the effects loop so im looking for a drive pedal so i can run everything in front lol
