"Resurrecting The Kessler": A documentation of the restoration and renovation process for the beautiful and historic Kessler Theater in X+/North Oak Cliff. Dallas writer Jeffrey Liles is gathering video footage of a number of musicians performing inside the building while the transformation is taking place. The Kessler opened in March on 2010, and now hosts films, dance classes and live music performances every weekend.
Still watching in Sept 2024. My wife and I have been watching him for nearly as long as this video has been on RU-vid. He might be the most underrated musician on planet earth. We live near Weatherford, TX and I just saw him a few weeks back just casually walking out of the Eagles Nest convenience store. Said hello and he stopped and chatted for a minute. Nicest dude you'll ever come across, could not be more down to earth.
The Whiney Houston version was playing at a diner I was having lunch at the other day and I immediately thought about this video. I hadn't seen this in over 10 years but it's still amazing.

Hands down the best cover of this I ever heard! I have created a transcription of the guitar if someone wants to learn it! If you feel like checking it out, click the link in my bio and search it under "My Scores & Tabs" Half of the proceeds go to the artist!
It's crazy I first saw this my sophomore year in highschool - I'm 28 now and still think about this from time to time. Truly a masterful performance by an extraordinarily talented man. What. A. Voice.
