Oh snap! The gold cartridge is cool, but that pin set, that will be a really cool display item. Also, definitely frame the post cards and hang it somewhere.
The gold cartridge with the stand is really cool! I might have to look for the collector's edition now. I was just going to get the $30 digital edition but this has changed my mind. Can't wait to see the japanese one.
It is really cool, I was hoping it would be a working cartridge of the original World Championships but alas it is not. I can't wait for the Japanese edition to get her and show off those goodies.
Thanks for the comment! Yeah I was luke warm on this game when announced but I am have a lot of fun playing it. Also I'm glad you're enjoying the channel.
That train controller is pretty cool, but I'm going to go with the Ronin Warriors poster, good luck finding a frame for it, those are weird dimensions.
Well if you can't tell by my profile pic, Chrono Trigger is definitely my favorite of you grabs! So cool that you got a complete in box one. Also that stinks about your childhood one going missing. I sold mine when I was a teen (stupid I know). Hopefully it's in some random box in your house, hope you find it!
I've tried numerous brands of the GGN style N64 sticks and none of them ever pass the tip-toe test in Super Mario 64, making precise movements impossible for certain titles. Would highly recommend using Kitsch-Bent replacement parts/gears/sticks as an alternative if possible, as the original stick design is much more precise.
I will definitely look into that. I originally didn't intend to purchase a Gamecube style and I definitely agree about the original joystick for games like Super Mario 64. I have a couple videos up on the channel of me playing the Super Mario 3D All-Stars version on Switch and several times I complain about the controls not being as precise as on the original hardware. I definitely plan on doing a comparison video of the Gamecube style vs OEM style in the near future. Thanks for the watch and comment!
ugh... I might lower my tier. I've had Ultimate since it started and stuck through the first price raise, not sure if I want to pay $20 a month. I don't think there have been 3 day one games I've played in 2024 yet. Indy is coming out soon and maybe I'll play call of duty, but still that's just two so I don't know. I'll probably end up forgetting to downgrade and pay a couple months of Ultimate lol.
I feel ya. I'm not sure if I've got my 3 games for 2024 just yet, in fact I think this is the first year in a while where I've played more new PS and Nintendo games than Xbox games.
Yeah, I just checked, between my son and I, as far as day one games go, at the end of 2024 I'll probably have downloaded 4 day one games, so I met the value for this year. Also though, I've played through the original gears games plus 4 recently, so at the very least that's another 20-40 dollars right there. 2025 though is looking solid, of confirmed games there are 2 definite that I'll be playing right away and 2 more that are strong maybes.
The price hike sucks, but you do make a good point that if you only play 3 day one games it pays for itself. I think I'll end up getting a few cards before september as well to save a few bucks.
Eh, these GC style sticks do not have full range of motion. They work for the most part, but I remember the twisty path at the beginning of Conker's Bad Fur Day is impossible to stay on with this stick.
I'll have to pop Conker's in and check that out. Before I bought this stick I did read a review that said the 2023 version of this stick (I assume that's the one that got shipped to me) was much more responsive and agile than previous years so hopefully that's the case with a game like Conker's. But also, thanks for the view and comment.
Good point. I think it's a matter if someone has an OEM controller they want to save as opposed to buying a new one. For me, this controller was part of a really cool Japanese exclusive Mario Kart 64 set so I definitely wanted to be able to use this one and the old stick was so floppy. Thanks for the comment and the view!
@@Nintendad64 After I clicked your link, I found a cheaper alternative. Five replacements for under twenty bucks. However, it is most likely quantity over quality.
@@nickangelo16 You gotta be careful with N64 sticks. The stock controller has an extremely fine directional sensitivity, and N64 games are designed to rely on that.
Unfortunately I do not know. I went back and checked the product page and couldn't find an answer. I can say it's a really nice stick though with good feel to it.
It is a great game, one of my favorites, I'm glad the algorithm is getting my content out there. Thank you for the view and comment. I'll be doing more play throughs like this in the near future with Revenge, WWF WrestleMania and No Mercy.
Man, I'm so excited for this. I haven't played it since it first released and I barely remember it so I feel it's going to be like playing a new game again.
Thank you Alec! Yeah, the mic was muted because we were in Discord but apparently that wasn't coming through the stream/game-capture. I'll have to tinker with that on the next play through to try and fix it. Still experimenting with everything trying to find that sweet spot. Thank you for watching though and I hope you enjoy the rest of the channel.
@@Nintendad64 it’s truly is, The art for the game is bad ass, even if there’s not a whole lot of it. I drew the chunky king pin sprite. Then I just kept doing random punisher stuff, then this came outa nowhere like, like pure luck
I kept up for a bit hoping it would get better but it hasn't. I think the Acolyte has finally broke me. At this point Star Wars is just a brand to Disney it doesn't really mean anything. I like your head cannon though. What we got in the prequels isn't what I imagined either. In fact I remember a conversation with a friend of mine when Attack of Clones came out and he said "what if Darth Vader is a clone of Anikan and he really does kill him" I was mortified by his idea, but I said, "at this point I wouldn't put it passed Lucas." Luckily we didn't get that.
Don't worry, you're not the only one who forgot about Solo. Also, overall good podcast. Disney Star Wars at best has been mid. I quite watching after Rise of Skywalker and honestly I don't know if there is anything they can do to win me back.
It is truly awesome that after a decade they're finally returning to consoles! I'm also excited we're getting them this year and we don't have to wait too long. Definitely a day one purchase for me physically, possibly on both the Switch and PS4.
@@Nintendad64 XVSF through MVC2 were released during my teen years. Co-incidentally, this re-release coincides with my nephews'. Makes it doubly exciting as I get to share the joy of playing the compilation with them.
Same, I was 16 when the Dreamcast launched and one of the first games I got was the first Marvel vs Capcom, and coincidently, my oldest son just turned 16 so it will be cool playing this with him. And even better he doesn't play fighting games so his old man is going to whoop him, lol.
Lots of good stuff announced, Marvel vs Capcom is awesome, was never into the Dragon Quest games but those remakes look great, Mario and Luigi, and the new Zelda game! So much money to spend
So many good games from the Xbox Showcase and this Direct. Luckily most of the games from the Xbox Showcase are gamepass day one so that will save me a ton of money.
Man I feel you. I remember how awesome 2023 was and I thought 2024 was a lame duck year, but man we are getting banger after banger after banger at the tail end of 2024.
