This channel is used mostly to upload my CR animatics that I do for fun and potentially any videos I'd like to share.
I do warn all of you that my CR animatics are FULL OF SPOILERS if you haven't cought up with the series, and therefore hope you first catch to the VOD or now animated series before watching/subscribing to my channel. If you don't care and watch/subscribe either way, I only got two things to tell you: Its your own fault, I warned you! And THANK YOU!!
Tbh I prefer this one to the show, if only for extra effect of the shaved ear and face and the bleeding from Grog's shattered legs. Little details that were lost in the show that you visualized perfectly
This hurt so much since Pike was always by his side most of the time, and him not understanding that not everyone with magic can heal broke me. And I am not prepared for this in the show but need to see it all the same.
This is a legendary kill. Has to be one of the best in DnD history. It had it all, a raging battle, the despiration of one final desperate act, creativity to set up the killing blow, narrative and dialogue synergies, and lets not forget POETIC JUSTICE! DnD really doesn't get much better than this. ❤
(7 years late I’m aware lol) but Now I need someone to animate the rest of this scene where they go outside and she goes “OH MY GOD GUYS!” And is so excited to see everyone 😂❤
The beginning of this is my favorite part! Picturing the characters at the table instead of the actors is the best! I love all the expressions and just the insanity. It's so good!
back after 6 years to appriciate your work again. ;) looking forward to seeing what the new animated series on HBO will do with it. cant really top this voice acting.
"Please keep her from doing anything stupid" allow me to introduce you to the group where -A fighter invented guns and was possessed by a demon -a druid can become a fire kaiju -a golioth grew a beard -one of the half-elfs is basically best bro with the goddess of death -the other one is this close to being married to the fighter -a cleric takes no shit and -a bard fisted a fucking black dragon your argument has never been less valid
This was beautiful years ago, and still holds up. Plus, I wouldn't be surprised if they showed the animators this as a reference shot for the animated version given the major scene's similarity in execution (lol pun intended). Perfection. Thank you!
Me too :) It's a neat factor for sure. I also love how he described how Grog was gonna kill Kevdak as he came diving down thanks to his combo with Vex. And Matt knocked it out of the part describing how it was.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA THIS IS SO AMAZING
Can't help but appreciate how accurate this was compared to how the show went with the visuals. Very nice. I'm glad they didn't have Kevdak look to flee in the show. His death felt like much more of an occasion with how it was handled.
Something I generally noticed in LoVM: because "hit points" are not a thing that makes sense in that context, the fatal blow has to believably take the opponent straight from "not particularly injured (therefore absolutely able to keep fighting)" to "dead." By extension, retreat doesn't make sense nearly as often. The only way to visually present "down to 5HP out of 200" would be "barely able to stand upright," and then finishing him off is just not heroic.
So, if Grog (sorry don't know his VA's name) were to roll a bad number, would the story be different? Like, Grog just straight up miss or something else bad?
Also, don't forget that he rolled a natural 20 (as in, without modifiers), which gives critical success. In terms of rolls to damage this *doubles* all damage from the attack. Had Travis not rolled a 20 here there could have not been enough damage to finish off Kevdak. Which could have made things very dicey.
I love coming back to these animatics after they happen in the show but tbh I like this more since Grog comes off as more menacing and violent than in the show. Also the part where he falls face first smiling.
Loved watching this in Legends of Vox Machina, it is so good to watch. BUT. This still wins on style. The way you draw Grog, he just looks so intimidating.
