this place is so creepy. If I understand correctly, there is a layer of algae near the top that blocks out all the light? is this recorded during the day then?
I’m not as familiar with the pinnacles as I am the other side of the quarry, but from memory, it gets deeper as you follow it along, so my guess is they were beyond recreational depths in this video. On the other side, up to 9m it’s very light, but with each ledge that you drop down it gets a bit darker. Down by the 20m tunnel it’s still pretty light, but once you go over the edge and start dropping below 30m, that’s when it starts to get dark. It gets darker again if you go over the 40m ledge. I only ever made it as far down as 57m and it was pretty dark at that depth
@@xenostim no I loved it lol. There’s a creepy tunnel on land there though that is blocked off at the end, but there’s a small crawl through space off to the side which opens into a room. I was more creeped out by that than anything in the water 🤣
@@LG-Musique brooooo 😭LOL. sounds awesome though. It being pitch black underwater is what really creeps me out. Kinda reminds me of this lake I visited in Pennsylvania that was actually a town that was flooded for a dam or something. I didn't dive it though
@@xenostim oh wow! That would be really cool! I would have loved to have dived a flooded town/village. It’s very dark in Dorothea, but it’s not completely pitch black (I can’t speak for deeper than 57m though). I used a light for me torch, which I really liked. I gave up diving about 7 years ago to start a family, but in our last year or so of diving me and my husband did the limited mine diver course and that was very dark 🤣 the hardest part was kitting up in the dark lol. I don’t think I could have gone on to do full cave diver 😂🙈
Hi .... 🙄...if I read correctly your dive computer display the decompression stop must be at 21 m for 14 minutes ? Thanx a lot for this amazing opportunity to witness your experience....
Hi there What is displaying is the deepest stop if I headed up at that point...21M for 1 minute, with a total time to surface (including shallower stops) of 15 minutes. At the end of this dive I probably had about 50 minutes of stops to do Thanks for watching 🙂
Hi wild me, quite a story really.... I took a trip out to Elphinstone reef with two of my friends leaving Kristen (my wife) and one other friend(Mark) to dive the North House reef at marsa shagra... They had a quiet dive but a strong current forced them further north when they surfaced... as they were waiting to be picked up by the zodiac, a fin appeared less than a metre from them! They feared something was looking for breakfast! But a quick dip underwater revealed a young whale shark (5 metres) looking straight at them! I couldn't believe it when i returned an hour later to hear their story! But hey, that's diving!
