Lived in Bay Area for 35 years starting in the early 1970s. Don't understand why Pier 39 was included in this nostalgic song about the glories of California and San Francisco. Pier 39 was built in 1978 and has always been viewed by the local residence as a tourist attraction and home to Dan White's spud business before he killed Mosconi and Milk.
It also makes me think of Anticipation of the Return of our LORD..Yeshua Messiah/Jesus Christ...Now, He is a Super Star..remember that song of the day...the good old days are yet to come.. Political correctness shut down some of our mines before. Recently closed our power plant and put the mine into layoffs. Damaged other industries. Didn't help workers or the economy, or anything else but hey, it looks good to ideologues, never mind the people or how pointless it is. At least the Native welders put out of work had the gumption and skills to move on to a different area.
