I like fun things. I bet you also like fun things. So I'll upload some videos of one of the fun things I do, and I hope you are spurred on to going and doing your own fun things!
You can expect to see mostly vids of RC Rock Crawling here, also some vids of related subjects, such as maintenance and upgrades. Hopefully, I will earn your subscription and some of your likes. I'll do my best to have a new vid as often as I can, but I'm not a RU-vidr, and I don't make money doing this. The name of the channel says it: this is my hobby!
I started this channel in Oct 2021, and I'm excited to see where it goes. I've learned a lot, and have had more fun than I thought I would. Now, don't just watch me on YT, go do your own fun things!
The Capra's body (which is a tube-style frame) is only available from Horizon/Axial unless you find it being resold from a third party. There are other sources for the body panels: side panels, top and hood. AFAIK Pro-Line never made a cage nor body panels for the Capra. Y'all correct me if I'm wrong. There certainly isn't a Capra specific polycarb body for it, though I've seen some nice custom adaptations. Of special note: the current cage sold from Horizon is for the 4WS capra, and I understand it will not bolt up to the old cage, but the new cage will fit the old skid with no issues. I might be wrong on that. I hope that answers your question. Merry Christmas!!
Awesome!! Many of the same upgrades I’ve done to mine will work for you. But the esc/receiver combo is a limitation 4WS Capra need to be aware of! I hope that isn’t a surprise to you or anyone…
Thanks for watching! That's true if it's basically a smooth dirt trail. When the vehicle encounters an obstacle - which is about every 10 feet around here - one will desire something with better grip. I still stand with what I said.
This is funny, I got a set of VXT (bag j) for free, cuz nobody wants them. I mounted them on SSD wagon wheels that make it a decent trail only tire. I also ordered chains for the winter driving that's fast approaching in Wisconsin 😂
Ya, thanks for the watch and the sub! So those are 1.9 Pro-Line Krawlers predator compound. Inside are some of my own design 3d printed inserts in the front, Pro-Line dual stage foams in the back.
You're not technically wrong! But it's a bit of a walk to get there (see the previous x rock video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lVEv4_wiRwE.html) so I will pass on using this spot for any testing 🤓
Those are the Gmade SR03, www.gmade.net/product/search.html?banner_action=&keyword=sr03, which I got because I saw someone else running them on the portal axle. These have as much positive offset (sucks the wheels into the wheel well) as can be run on this truck with 1.9" wheels. Clearance to the top portal cover screw is less than 1mm, but you'll need to change that screw to something with a rounded head, instead of the boxy one that comes on it.
The Capra and the Phoenix both have the capability for it. I have installed servos to use it on both of them. I'm a performance oriented type of person, so for me these trucks do what I want!
It certainly it a great spot!! TLcrash’s SCX10-2 does need upgrading, but he’s 11 and likes to spend his $$$ on other things right at the moment. It was pre-abused as a LHS rental, so it got beat pretty hard before he got it. 😏
These are more refined trucks than many others. Either is a good choice. But they are bulky. Unless you just like the Fordyce body, it’s exactly the same truck as the RTR Phoenix. My personal opinion is for $20 more I would take the Phoenix because it has the option to upgrade in the future without buying another transmission.
Also, I have enjoyed using dig a lot, and I prefer having selectable overdrive over always-on - especially on a trail truck. AND for a trail truck, these are VERY capable.
That's what makes it so hard. The price difference is essentially negligible, but I love the new body style and color. I wish I could see and test drive each of them before buying!
Sorry, YT has not been showing me replies to my replies. I do know what you mean. Can't test dig without having a car with dig to test it! That said, not much price difference, get the one with because you might like it, and if you don't, you can lock it out. If you go the other way, it's more expensive and difficult to add it later.
I really don't know. The site is in NM, and is an OHV playground. Just happens to also be really good for RC crawlers too. Looks like several cans of paint exploded.....
That was some pretty awesome crawling with the Phoenix, impressive. My Phoenix does not have the clicking, I saw someone comment that they thought it was due to the screw into transmission from the skid plate underneath. I left mine out when I built it and have not tried running with it in so I can’t confirm or deny. Thanks for sharing and it’s great to see you out with your son!
Sweet place to crawl at, they both performs really good but if i would get another crawler it will be a Capra, either this or the 4ws, not much price different.
I only meant it’s not in either of the two axles. I figured that out when I snapped some of the transmission gear teeth and after I was in there replacing them I was doing some testing. It’s certainly the transmission and not anything else. But where in the transmission? I know not….
Hey, another Marty Chang viewer 😁 Funny stuff. (sorry for such a delay on this, I wasn't aware that I was missing these replies to replies, which stupidly [in my opinion] isn't under the same category as 'new replies')
Started my build this week. Some great tips, I got the Dewalt DCF680 Cordless Screwdriver and it does make life a lot better and the task easier. Could not imagine doing all those screws by hand. Will take a look at the panhard bar length before I get much further. Nothing wrong with taking a tip from Josh on the radiator, after all he is the man. Thanks for sharing and have a great day.
1° WoW, TOP spot my Friend! 2° Amazing RCs Trucks, great performance Crawling and very Skills from the Drivers! 3° Congrats for the very cool Vídeo 🐼👍🏻
If you’re ever able to get to Canyonlands or Indian Creek you should!! Each truck is very customized by its owner, and we all spend lots of time doing this - because to each of us it’s very fun!
Love that blue color, is a Beauty that VS4 my Friend, Congrats for the awesome body/paint work! The Spot is TOP, very challenging, look like is fun to run! Subscribed!
