I pray to the Sun. It works most of the time. 6 million Jews tried your god, but he was on vacation!

Laws attributed to Yahweh and the implementation of such pronouncements would be illegal in most countries today. If this God exists, he created crimes against humanity, not humanism.

Very true. Our bodies composed of the flesh, the soul and the spirit. Whilst the flesh is the outer appearance of the body which is purported to sin when it's desires aroused.

Theo, for centuries the Catholic church threatened children with threats of hellfire and torture for those who did 'believe ' in its doctrine. Like it or not, Christian teaching preaches we are born 'sick' and orders us to be 'well' and endlessly praise the creator. This is the polar opposite of secular humanism.

Why would you write a biography about a person you do not like? I was hoping to find lots of good qualities in Joy Davidman instead of the opposite.

What about the thousands of years of humanist thought in Ancient Greece and Rome? Religious thinking holds humanity back yet tries to take all the credit of progress.

Theo, bless him, wants more religion in the public sphere, like Baroness Varsi. Sadly for Mr Hobson most folks believe that supernatural worship is rather silly and secular values flourish because that are based on reason and are actually the best way for people to be free to worship anything they wish.

It must always be made abundantly clear that we (all men) post puberty and adolescence (the whole world over) are filled with many secretive dishonest and immoral thoughts of “Temptation”: - Everything that has changed us from being that very young, innocent and harmless child of whom we all once were: - But unfortunately most of us are blind to ourselves, and where it matters not in the least, whether we are a man of religion, a man of science, a king, a rich man poor man beggar or thief. There is but only one Son of man that was sent by the true Spirit of God to save us from all the insecure evil, within ourselves… “A member of the Jewish council [Nicodemus] came to Jesus at night and said, ‘Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.’ Jesus replied, ‘Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born over again.’ ‘But how can someone be born when they are old?’ Nicodemus asked. ‘Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!’ Jesus answered, ‘In truth I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and Spirit. Flesh gives birth to flesh, but Spirit gives birth to spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’” - (John 3: 1-7) - “God is Spirit, and those who worship him must worship him in Spirit and in truth.” - (John 4: 24) - “You shall know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” - (John 8: 32) - “When you pray, go into a room by yourself, and shut the door. Pray to your Father who is there in the secret place; and your Father who sees what is secret will reward you. In your prayers do not go babbling on like the heathen, who imagine that the more they say the more likely they are to be heard. Do not imitate them. Your Father knows what your needs are before you ask him. This is how you should pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, Your kingdom come; your will be done, on earth as in heaven, Give us today our daily bread, And forgive us the wrong we have done, as we have forgiven those who have wronged us. And do not bring us to the test, but save us from the evil one. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory, for ever. Amen. For if you forgive others the wrongs they have done, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; but if you do not forgive others, then the wrongs you have done will not be forgiven by your Father.” - (Matthew 6: 6-15) - “Truly I tell you; if anyone obeys my teaching he shall never know what it is to die.” - (John 8: 51) - “Pass no judgement, and you will not be judged. For as you judge others, so you will yourselves be judged, and whatever measure you deal out to others will be dealt back to you.” - (Matthew 7: 1-2) - “Always treat others as you would like them to treat you: that is the Law and the Prophets. Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it. Beware of false prophets, men who come to you dressed up as sheep while underneath they are savage wolves. You will recognize them by the fruits they bear.” - (Matthew 7: 12-16 - “I am the gate; anyone who comes into the fold through me shall be safe.” - (John 10: 9) - “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” - (Matthew 7: 21) - “I am the resurrection and I am life. If a man has faith in me, even though he dies, he shall come to life; and no one who is alive and has faith shall ever die.” - (John 11: 25-26) - “I have not come to judge the world, but to save the world” - (John 12: 47) - “Whoever then will acknowledge me before men, I will acknowledge him before my Father in heaven; and whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.” - (Matthew 10: 32-34) - “I am the way; I am the truth and I am life; no one comes to the Father except by me. If you knew me you would know my Father too.” - (John 14: 6-7) - “The disciples came to Jesus and asked, ‘Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven?’ He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: ‘Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of Heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me. If anyone causes one of these little ones-those who believe in me-to stumble, It would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. Woe to the world because of the things that cause people to stumble! Such things must come, but woe to the person through whom they come!’” - (Matthew 18: 1-7) - “Where two or three gather in my name, I am there among them.” - (Matthew 18: 20) - “Though many are called, few are chosen,” - (Matthew 22: 14) - “An expert in the law, [a leading religious Pharisee] tested him with this question: ‘Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?’ He answered, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind. That is the greatest commandment. It comes first. The second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself. Everything in the Law and the Prophets hangs on these two commandments.’” - (Matthew 22: 35-40) - “There is no greater love than this, that a man should lay down his life for his friends.” - (John 15: 13) - “Do not call any man on earth ‘father’; for you have one Father and he is in heaven. Nor must you be called ‘teacher’; you have one Teacher, the Messiah.” - (Matthew 23: 9-10) - “Take care that no one misleads you: For many will come claiming my name…” - (Matthew 24: 4) - “Many false prophets will arise, and will mislead many; and as lawlessness spreads, men’s love for one another will grow cold. But the man who holds out to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the Kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the earth as a testimony to all nations; and then the end will come.” - (Matthew 24: 11-14) - "Stay awake, and pray that you may be spared the test: The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak." - (Matthew 26: 41) - “And be assured, I am with you always, to the end of time.” - (Matthew 28: 20) - “One of the criminals who hung there also mocked and taunted him: ‘Aren’t you the Messiah? Save yourself, and us!’ But the other criminal rebuked him. ‘Have you no fear of God? You are under the same sentence as he. For us it is plain justice; we are paying the price for our misdeeds; but this man has done nothing wrong.’ And he said, ‘Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.’ He answered, “I tell you this: today you shall be with me in Paradise.’” - (Luke 23: 39-43) - “For it is my Father’s will that everyone who looks upon the Son and puts his faith in him shall possess eternal life; and I will raise him up on the last day” - (John 6: 40) - Yours always, in true Spirit and in prayer, 2gointruth, Sunday the 23rd of September, 2018: - (Matthew 5:14-16) - Every minute and hour of the day or night can be a new beginning for any one of us: More references, to study even further, can be found in the daily letters (within the ‘comments’ page) of “2gointruth With Good News of the True Gospel” (on RU-vid). This guy suffers from an severe case of confirmation bias. Humanism developed despite Christianity, not because of it. Christians and the catholic church fought humanism tooth and nail.
