Highly recommend Nicky Grist’s interview with Chris Harris on the Collecting Cars podcast as an accompaniment piece. Grist goes into great detail about this crash and the real role of the emergency services.
They should have revived the original NBC version of this on ABC. FOX and CBS networks in the early 2000s-mid 2010s with Regis Philbin as the host with the red book gala episodes focusing on Steve Irwin, Anne Robinson, Rod Roddy, Bob Barker, Richard & Robert Sherman, Dick Clark, Betty White and other famous kegendsry American and international celebrities who were all the rage at the time
Thanks for sharing this, it's great to see Tony Lewis on this episode, he worked in the show business but was also the pub landlord at the Black Eagle in Hockley, Birmingham for many years. He run a excellent pub. He sadly passed away a few years ago. He will be missed by everyone who used and worked at the Black Eagle. R.I.P Tony
In my opinion this was one of the best 'This is Your Life' shows. Watching this in 2024 is sad in a way because there is a few no longer here besides Anne. But thank you for uploading this.
Don lives near me and I know him very casually, he is a lovely gentle man and as this show demonstrates, he is a great talent and much loved by everyone. He was devastated when his lovely wife passed away a few years ago.
I saw Errol and Hot Chocolate in concert, circa 1980, about the time of No Doubt About It. They were unbelievably good, and to this day, one of the best concerts I have ever had the privilege and good fortune to see. Errol Brown was an extraordinary singer and front man. Bless him…

Hilarious to see Edward Enfield on here thats Harry Enfield's Dad! Harry looks so much like his father! Sadly Edward passed away in 2009 but nice to see him on this clip I remember him on Watchdog with Anne and Alice Beer
I used to serve her at the bank, she was so lovely, kind and funny. Exactly what you see here. Corry just isn’t the same as when all these people were in it. So many of them sadly missed
"The season would be dominated by Nissan. Aïello would notch up ten race victories to claim the title in what would be his first and only year in the British championship. Teammate David Leslie would be the Frenchman’s only sustained title challenger, finishing comfortably as runner-up. The Japanese marque would be one of several though to withdraw from the series at the end of the year."
Do you have any of the early ASCAR races if you don't mind me asking? Cos' man seeing it being mentioned as a follow up programme makes me hope there's more footage of their earlier seasons out there.
James Courtney crash in the Jaguar F1 car at Monza at over 300kph when his rear suspension failed put an end to his F1 dreams and he has just announced his retirement from v8 supercars in 2024
I suppose he didn't plan to follow in Eamonn Andrews' footsteps at that time, but ... did they get Eamonn Andrews in the same way? I suppose not. They missed out The Goodies because he was on that TWICE as a "news reporter" - INCLUDING the King Cat story!
