The lawn is my hobby, and I enjoy sharing my hobby with other lawn enthusiasts. I focus on sharing content about what I do on my lawn. I'm located on the north side of the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and I currently have Raleigh St. Augustine in the front and common bermuda in the backyard.
I used to try edging with the string trimmer and wasn’t getting very good results. Once I switched to this edger, the results were incredible!! Like night and day. One of my favorite dozen or so Ryobi tools 👍🏻👍🏻
I found you can tighten that nut with a channel lock pliers and it eliminates most of the play. It is a poor design however. I haven't found a way to lower the handle bar neck. It's riveted in place. Picked ours up on FB for $15 so will use it until it displays more problems.
Thanks for this info. First time trying to over seed my backyard and have no idea what type is even back there but there is a lot of bald and muddy areas. Any suggestions on what to do😅 was thinking on throwing this rye beginning september but should i throw the same for spring or a different seed?
I loved my 530 for the whole year i was able to use it. Now that it has to be serviced, I have to wait an entire month. before I can take it to the nearest service center which is an hour and fifteen minute drive away from me just so I can drop it off and for them to tell me whether or not it can be repaired or replaced. 🤨
The plastic "caps" on the crank arms just before the pedals, are covering some sort of locking piece, and I can't seem to remove the crank arm ends to replace the bearings. Anyone know how to disassemble this?
Awesome video. I watched you last year, march 2023. I'm cutting down a 30 yrold Bradford tree. ... waited too long this year and storms hit again so finishingingvthe job..
I was able to get a crazy deal on Amazon for a 615CFM model, with a powerload trimmer and 2.5AH battery for $229, but if I were to get just the leaf blower it would be the 530. It’s already well enough power
I just bought this edger and it is a great tool. The blade even got rid of the rocks that line my driveway pad. AND I bought mine from eBay and it came quicker than Amazon packages.
I made the same decision. Too powerful a blower will just make all of the debris fly into the air and scatter. Plus the weight of a big blower is too much and battery life suffers. This little 530 is perfect and the turbo is really powerful! If you're doing compacted leaves stuck in bush bases or viny ground cover it might be a tad underpowered for that. But that is a rare and specific situation. Plust= if you're keeping up with your leaves, that should never happen. I have several ego products and have found that a 4 AH battery is about the minimum for me. I have 2 acres to care for.
I’m just now stumbling onto your channel. It’s April of 2024. Starting in March of 2023 I like you and so many others have been fighting this same issue. I thought it was TARR as well. I applied scotts disease X as soon as I realized my lawn was completely dead in sections of it. That seemed to take care of the issue and the lawn was filling in nicely. Now come August 2 sections of my lawn started dying off. At first I thought it was the extreme heat and no rain as you did. I upped the water a bit in those sections and saw no improvement. I dug around looking for grubs but found nothing. Then went ahead and applied insecticide and once again Scott’s disease X. Nothing stopped it from completely dying off. Now this spring the sections that I cured last spring have the same issue again. I think you were on something with this other root disease. That I completely lost last fall I’m replacing with Palisade zoysia. The reason being is, I had some zoysia plant up next to the Saint Augustine that died. The Zia was never affected. a maybe it’s a good thing because Saint Augustine is a water hog.
Also in the north Texas general area and am going to try this later this year. First, I have to get my Bermuda solid. So it might be next year. Does it help with keeping weeds at bay -- i.e. from a healthy lawn perspective?
Right now I have Bermuda with thin areas. I should wait and see how much bermuda I get this summer and in the fall throw down rye correct? I hope to get as much bermuda this summer to fill some bare areas and then after I get rye growing in the fall/winter eventually I can have a green lawn year round between the two. I am in Texas too.
I have St Augustine and facing very severe condition of TARR in my front lawn. Part of the lawn has become brown to blackish brown . Applied Scott Diseaseex two weeks back and then Milorganite a week after . Dont see kuch difference. Do I reapply Disease Scott Ex as it can be applied in 14 days interval.
I’ve only mowed my Bermuda as low as possible, put the seed out, then did a light watering to make sure the seed contacts the ground. Three seasons of that method with success.
