Oktober 1990.
A Great Reputation . His Boulez Sonata is and should be legendary as is his Petrouchka ,Chopin etudes (taste, restraint if that's what you want . Mannerisms don't last well so maybe the record companies push restraint .Frederick Chiu is my fave Chopin eudes "integrale". If YOU HEAR Michel bLOCK YOU MIGHT SAY Hhe is a personal PLAYER . tHESE COMPETITIONS SHOW THAt theworld is full of intelligent , honest artists and that the great reputations are not always the ones that speak to us . Longquich has the best Schubert sonatas I have ever heard . His Mozart too is top drawer up there with my faves Haebler,Uchida and Pires and Haskil is one of the few really big peronalities that everytime I hear her I'm astounded .she could do and say anything . Radu Lupu reALLY SHOULD HAVE LEFT US MORE BUT I GUESS AT THAT LEVEL you play what really you can add to the thousands of the same repertoire we already have.Lupu like Pollini often played living composers .
"You consider this a theory, the fact that before we experience sound, the concept/idea/imagination of the sound is incredibly meaningful. How should it sound? Same thing with conducting. What is my main concern when I start? How should it sound. The same principle applies to you. Because with the finger itself you will never find it. This absolutely uncomfortable leap. Therefore, it must in fact be mentally guided. In other words the concept/idea/imagination of the sound is the most important thing. It could happen that the concept/idea/imagination of the sound is clear but the finger is not dexterous, that can happen. But one thing is for sure, if the concept/idea/imagination of the sound is not there, there will be no finger that can execute it."
Does germany have an monuments or museums for this stuff? They were ethnically cleansed too, many murdered, raped and kicked off their land. Its only right that those vicitms be honored too

It s really true.In older years Arrau practised also 3 hours. While many others like Neuhaus Hofmann and Gieseking practised 4 hours. Leschetizky also asked three hours. I think to Practice more then four hours a day is Absolutely against the musical part. But also less then three hours is dangerous for technical advance.Of course we can arrange time of practising in respvt of different talents. In four hours one schould be devoted to pure technic and one to mastering difficult passages as the greatest Hofmann prescribed
@@hectorberlioz1449 A friend of mine helped manage Block's career, and thought he was a truly great pianist who was never recognized as being so in his lifetime.
