Over the years I have visited 4 times. I don't like sounding like a know it all, but go off season, and arrive at San Vitale just before opening. That gives you a good chance to experience the church before the groups arrive. I have to confess that church is one of my favorite places in the world. I hope that you are able to go.
@@monizdm yes i have been inside a couple of times. THe fact is that i went there during the week in April years ago and it was not crowded at all luckily. And i agree...it is magnificent :-) but i also loved a lot the small ones like Gallia Placida or the baptistries :-)
Yes it is right and it was also 3 times capital - Western Roman Empire, Ostrogoth Kingdom and of the Byzantine Exharcate of Italy 😉 it is for sure one of the cities i like the most in Italy
