Coach Matt grew up traveling an hour north to Detroit most weekends to play AAA youth hockey. His competitive hockey career hit its pinnacle in the Central States Hockey League, where he was a member of the 1998 junior hockey National Champion Toledo Cherokee.
After college, he moved to the Washington DC area where his passion for the game led him to get involved coaching high school hockey in Virginia. There he coached Washington-Liberty high school hockey for 13 years before stepping down to coach his daughter's youth travel team. In addition to coaching, he has served as an 8u Program Director, Travel Hockey Director, and a Coach Developer for USA Hockey.
