Honestly I prefer this version of Grief. In the books he was sadistic, gloating and he had to explain everything to Alex like a stereotypical Bobd villain. This version is a thrillingly gritty, realistic, paranoid, cold-hearted monster who behaves exactly like a real-life evil brilliant scientist would behave.

just to remind you keytripper that the hero in this story literally is a blue eyed blond haired traumatized boy being used as a child spy/child soldier/pawn by the Millitary industrial complex of great Britain the same country that sent hundreds of thousands of Dutch Afrikaner men, women and children to the World's first concertion camps in South Africa during the Boer wars in the early 1900s

Remember this is from the very same book and TV show where a government run spy agency (special operations -MI6) indoctrinates a blonde haired blue eyed traumatized fourteen year old boy to become a spy/snitch,tortures said boy as part of his training (like Kira did to kovu in the second lion king), blackmails him, threatens to deport his black African American woman personal guardian/friend,perscutes anyone with a different world view to them,invades French territory,uses a special forces unit(the SAS) as a personal black ops death squad against weaker enemies,locks up and arrests clones dispite them (with the exception of both Alex riders and Michael Roscoe's clones of course)not breaking any laws or doing almost nothing wrong whatsoever,is run by a macivellien shady government buracrat white privilege Mycroft Holmes/Amanda Waller/Heinrich Himmler type,is implied to ponder killing the clones,distrusts the government yet is known to have friendly dealings with and has made use of a global terrorist for hire /crime syndicate/mercanry service (IE scorpia) in the past,drugs and almost kills a millionaires spoilt teenage daughter via a chloform filled syringe 💉 and an agent posing as a maid, distrusts and almost hates the Americans,pretends to threaten a political agitator with torture and death in order to get information, uses fake news headlines and lies to its own people,uses fear and underhanded tactics to get what they want,then betrays their own evil allies by attacking them(like Hitler what did to Soviet Russia during world war 2), arresting them and tricking them into killing eachother(like what paronia about fascist traitors in their midst did to the minds of the Spaniards on the republican side after their defeat in the Spanish civil war of the 1920s and 30s), attacking a church in London later on in the books, lying to and manipulating a fourteen year old to do their evil bidding, who like the third Reich sends dozens of innocent (mostly)men, women and children to their deaths in order to maintain the status quo and serve their own selfish needs and desires and geopolitical agendas(kinda like the CIA)(who they ironically mistrust along with possibly the US president in the books),lectures the other characters as well as the audience about genocide and world domination and revenge and how all three are apparently evil despite how the plans of villains like Dr Hugo grief and Herod sayle aren't really genocide at all as they don't discriminate against race or gender or religion and as a result would kill people incriminatinly meaning it's really more like mass murder than genocide,world domination as for that well, while Dr grief may not necessarily have the most sympathetic motivations for doing so in the original novel where as for the television series when it comes to analysing the full consequences of overpopulation and finding a solution to it you can't help but admit he is truly onto something there and genuinely has a good point, revenge of all three villain motivations in Alex rider aside from money or obvious sadism is the most understandable and relatble and by far the most easily justified apart from world conquest, reminding us constantly that the villains (such as Dr grief) are the bad guys by making them as cartoonishly Evil as possible and giving us exposition about how the villains plans if they succeed will have really bad consequences and finally last but certainly not least rounding up and arestting a whole group of people (grief's clones)and locking them up (in Gibraltar if you must know)and then leaving them to die(from insanity or hunger) and all for the crime of simply existing gee,kind of makes you think who are the real fascists in this situation? IE MI6 and spy agencies fictional or not as well as our current society of course!

Actually there is a fine difference between radical extreme ideas about global warming, dwindling resources and overpopulation IE controversial views on the environment and a truly evil idealogy IE facism
