2024 is Season 4 of Sailing MV LadyLiselot. I am Henk-Jan (1965 - I know, one would not tell), a #liveaboard on this #trawler #yacht where I live, work, #singlehanded sail and enjoy life in #thenetherlands.
She is a 1980 49ft Blue Ocean Trawler and named after my daughter: "Fien Liselot". Build in Lien Hwa Boat Yard (established in 1978). Lien Hwa Boat Yard builded boats for several OEM partners included Blue Ocean (Holland - power boats), Little Harbor (US - sail boats), Marine Trader (US - power boats), Trade Winds (US - power boats).
This channel follows a format: "Join Henk-Jan, whilst he cruises with Lady Liselot". That's it. This automatically means: no boat tour and no boat jobs. These subjects do not fit the format.

Hi Henk-Jan! Yesterday I was on my way from Lauwersoog to Workum in my small Albin Vega „Triton“. I was in a convoy of about 6 boats passing through the bridges in Leeuwarden. At one point I saw a huge and very royal looking, dark blue and shiny bow with chrome trim coming towards us. The first boats made way for it to pass. I thought, could it be? And yes: passing, I saw the name of the ship: „LADY LISELOT“! Beautiful ship. I never expected her to be that big! Especially from the front she is a grand site. I gave you a shout asking if you are on your way to denmark, you said yes. I just came from Sonderburg, it was great, even with my small adventures (engine failure in the northsea, had to ask KNRM for assistance and a tow into the Westgat. Great poeple!) . I wish you a safe and fun voyage! You will most probably have some bumpy passages, just tie everything down and try get through. Avoid wind against tide and stay in rather deep waters. Looking forward very much to your episodes about this trip! Cheers, Michael.
Hello Michael, and I was amazed by how often that day people recognized me and were happy to see me (pass and move on… hahaha). The people from KNRM are great for sure, I normally flag their flag with pride on the bow. Enjoy your journey and thank you for reaching out!
@@MVLadyLiselot I’ve owned two boats…that’s experience speaking. Thinking about a third, but the upkeep costs are keeping me away. One needs disposable income or very deep pockets.
Hi Henk. That weather doesn't look great, but love all the canal cruising. 900mls and 4 countries. Wow. We travel that far and still only half way up Australian Coast. Enjoy that coffffeeee Dude and safe travels.
Hey Henk, The flat bottom girl lag onlangs in Brielle, zag ik in de vlog van de Enjoy Life en is in handen van Canadese eigenaren, die daarvoor een Grand Banks 42 hadden.
Hi Henk-Jan, I‘m really exited about your tour and I wish you a safe and nice trip to Sweden. I have done this one the other way around (CPN to De Bijland) in May and I must say: it was GREAT. Be careful at the Kiel canal with all the big ships and take care about the wind at the Baltic Sea. I was lucky and could go east of Lolland - your route is saying you want to go South Sea of Denmark. Enjoy the trip and all the Best for you - this is really an adventure! Curious to see what you‘re doing! Greetz from Germany.
Fek, All good for you Henk ? How long did you visit the "coffee"shops ? It's about time our teachers in Scotland gave them a visit and perhaps our school's would be fun learning from yourself. 😂 Thank you for your crazy video. Cheers Shipmate
Goodness I feel old ! It was originally the Zuyder Zea, then the Islemeer, now it has another addition.. what with all the polders Holland will soon be one large housing estate. I made many trips to/through and from Holland back in the 70s as a yacht delivery skipper.. Also many from Sweden as we had a contract with Hallberg Rassy at Ellos... brings back a lot of memories both good and tough ! Stormy North Sea crossings followed by gentle drifting through Amsterdam via the Vecht Canal. Could you please give us a tour of the boat ? Now retired I've just had to sell what was almost certainly my last boat, I miss it like a mistress :>)
I'm thrilled you're heading for the baltic, visiting Helgoland and the Kiel Canal on the way. I know that area very well, and all the way to Gothenborg, too. So if you want to know anything about those areas, I'm happy to help! I strongly advise to get diesel on Helgoland. It's good, pure diesel without any biological additions, and it's tax free. When heading to sweden via the isle of Anholt, please make a stop there. It's very, very beautiful! Have a good trip!
Henk Did you learn this song as a child? My dad and Grandpa Vickers taught i to us when we were very young It is the only Dutch I know Sinterklaas, kapoentje Gooi wat in mijn schoentje, Breng wat in mijn laarsje, Dank je Sinterklaasje. Remember Me 10 5 Thank you, Saint Nicholas. Shawn
Without stabilisers, I would not make this trip. Remember going to U.K. and back, and the diasters that happened?. By the way either Holland is sinking or more likely the sea is rising, sell your house and move. (satire)
We've made this trip to the Baltic several times before (since 2017), most recently earlier this year. We (my wife and I) also own a water displacement type motor cruiser, smaller than Henk-Jan's ship though. Until 2022, we did not have stabilizers fitted, but in 2022/2023 we had a stabilizer built in. One can certainly do this trip without stabilizers, but you have to watch sea conditions very carefully, and it can become unpleasant at times. Having stabilizers does not mean you don't have to be very aware of sea states, but it does widen ones options, and if things unexpectadly do go pear-shaped, having the stabilizer is very, very comforting.
Henk-Jan, thanks for your videos! I watch them regularly and i greatly like you humour!😊 Your journey thru the beautifull waterways of netherlands make me wanting to buy a boat and join😊
Zweden, mooie bestemming.
