Hi Becky, There is quite a detailed scene in the quarter berth at 4'50". It's got a little port window which is cool. Apologies we missed the heads. Next time! Cheers Marcus

Keeling the sails instead of the boom is known as onkeel or academic keeling design. Your lateral resistance ahead of the centers of sail effort. On keel.
@markcampbell7577
@markcampbell7577 2 года назад
Rekeel the mast and headsails to have the greatest lateral resistance area ahead of the sails. Don't forget to ballast the middle of the boat. The rekeel will increase the speed and control of the boat. You will be better able to handle high wind and heavy weather.
@markcampbell7577
@markcampbell7577 2 года назад
This type of keeling also allows you to increase the headsail to the cockpit and still handle the rudder.

@@markcampbell7577 Hi Mark, I haven't heard of this before. Are you suggesting you physically move the keel?
@markcampbell7577
@markcampbell7577 2 года назад
The keel should be physically under the mast and the stem of the boat deeper than the keel. LWR wing keel and blade.

I am curious how it would handle the east coast of Australia single handed? any thoughts?
@marcusgillezeau1610
@marcusgillezeau1610 2 года назад
The 349 would go great along the East Coast. I've raced against one at Hamilton Island Race Week that had sailed up from Sydney short handed. If you're super experienced, it would be a good boat to sail single-handed as it's relatively small, so if anything does go wrong, it'd be easy to handle. But you'd need to add all the safety for Category 3, plus autohelm etc. And do the Survival at Sea course, Yacht Master etc. There are plenty of used 349 on the market which is another bonus.

I want one with lifting keel
@marcusgillezeau1610
@marcusgillezeau1610 3 года назад
Hi Dean, the Jeanneau 349 doesn't have a lifting keel, but it does have a short keel version. Maybe 1.6m draft. I wouldn't opt for that though as it won't sail very well. There are yachts that are specifically designed for having a lifting keel. Or maybe a catamaran.

@@ddizon666 Hi Dean, TheSilver looks great, but just be aware that it doesn't age well at all. After a few years, the silver gelcoat will need to be redone to keep that lovely silver look. I would recommend instead getting a standard white hull, and then getting a vinyl wrap. The vinyl wrap can be any colour you like, you can even have artwork on it, and it protects the white hull. They're about $4,000

@@cinthialimadearaujo3738 Hi Cinthia, they cost USD $100,000 - $150,000 depending on what sails and equipment you ask for. There are a few second had ones available that are quite well specified.

as for the dingy can it be fitted in the back? more more video please
@marcusgillezeau1610
@marcusgillezeau1610 4 года назад
Hi Champs, this Jeanneau is more a day sailor, or weekend sailor than a long term cruising boat as it's only 35ft (11.5m). In mast furling would work, but she wouldn't sail as well as a normal mast/sail set up. There are more videos at Rockmyboat2010 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1xbuIF7Nabs.html
