The filming is good. Unfortunately you give three sentences of "information". "The prime coat must be thin", "the glue must be thin" and "sometimes you forget what color your boat is.😒 how about the name of: The prime coat, the glue, what is being put on top of the glue (if anything?) and what you are using to clean?
Glue is all the same it's just a prime coat is a coat you apply and let completely dry before adding a second "glue coat" priming is when you are prepping , gluing is when you are applying your patch. I use bostik 2402 or ne486 adhesive and bostik cleaner solvent. For hypalon Alpha pvc adhesive + additive The problem is that typically general public cannot legally buy what I use hence why I don't say what I use, it contains carcinogenic chemicals that arent allowed to be sold to the public but commercial companies can purchase them. The process is the same however for the publicly available adhesives I just don't know the names of them.
Sorry, I did not want too many people walking in the way so I stayed pretty close to the boats also many boats where crammed in to small areas makingnit hard to get enough space. There wasn't much in the way of new styles/designs anyway, mostly the same as last year. Thanks for the sonstructive criticism 👍
@@ribfix558 ah, thanx a lot, I found abandoned dinghy with long long knife cuts, more than a 30 inches long. first i stich it with nylon threads and try to make a patches from inside through valve holes and outside too, but I still have very tiny leaks. it deflates in few days.. but i think problem is a high humidity of region I have to fix it, more than 80%... cause now i ripped of one patch and glue (2 component was) is like a soft ruber and whity... so, thanx anyway guys.
Hay your work looks brilliant just trying to repair my own boat and there is a leek under the rub rail ... Will I have to remove the whole rail ? Or just peel it back until I find the leak Thanks in advance
If its behind it it potentially could be traveling all the way along, if it's just bellow the rail you can get away with just lifting a small area to get a patch behind it then sand the top of the patch and restick the rail.
Hi, yes it is showing you how much to sand hypalon fabric, and what happens if it is sanded to far. Nobody I've seen seems to show this, so I figured it will help some people out there. There are other videos on my channel showing actual repairs. Any questions, get in touch
Follow instructions, not work. Filled my board with bathroom sealant and seems to be holding shape well! Only had it up to 32psi so far but still flexes a little so need to take it higher when I next use it. Thank :)
Some people use polyurethane sealer as its less effected by salt water. I would strongly recommend getting it fixed properly before use if you plan on going far
Pvc, most paddle boards are pvc made, usually the higher end ones are heat welded, but this can also happen on a bad weld. Use pvc. I sell some if you need any
