I create weekly videos about my Corvette, Chevy SS, GMC Sierra 2500HD Duramax, various tools and projects around the shop, and various car events that I attend.
Last I heard they still didn't have power. Some neighbors got water - and others still don't have water. They did get a few of the trees cut up and moved out of the way - so they aren't trapped anymore.
OK so tell me more about the factory mufflers could he still turn them down and up and control the noise of the exhaust I remember you saying it was still loud when he pushed it to the interstate
yeah the Kooks mid pipes bolted to the GM mufflers - its been a few years since we did that install. I think he kept it out of sports mode until he got out of my neighborhood. Then punched it and I heard it from like a 1/2 mile away!
Just wanted to say thanks one more time. I zoomed in on the video and copied the pdf file number and got it. Stupid Chevy going all John Deere with we can only work on your vehicle. Bunch of commie @#$%. But guy you rock and thanks again
I just hooked up the Molex connector 19370262 to the open spot next to the blue/green wire like this video suggests. What I have not seen anyone mention is the additional release tab you must squeeze in addition to pulling down the white unlocking tab like this video says to do. After you pull down the white tab to "unlock" the connector, on the opposite side of the connector (180 degrees) there is a small tab you must push in while you are pulling down. This will remove the connector. As a added note, the connector will slide right out with little effort once you have done above steps correctly. No need to pull hard at all, as it just slides out like butter. I wanted to mention this so people do not tug to hard trying to get this black connector out. Thanks bonecrusher for this video, I'm sure it will help many who want footwell lighting in these newer silverados.
Thank you for the additional details - I don't remember having any issue pulling the black connector out of of the BCM - but I did that mod like over a year ago 🤣
@@bonecrrusherSS thanks for the reply, I'm looking for the wiring part of the installation. I followed how you did it and figured it out. but in the video you had a site pulled up. I just would like to know where I can find that install guide. I got a new bar from Chevy with the harness and would like to install it without cutting into any of the factory harnesses.
Hi. Thanks for the video. How did you disable the factory third brake light? I am attempting to remove a sport bar and I can’t figure out how to get my third brake light back to operation. The CHMSL fuse is still intact. Thank you.
The AWD handled great coming down the Rockies from Estes Park to Denver with 16" of snow on the ground. It handled everything else Colorado threw at us as well.
2 Questions. Do you know what this open pin is for, if the truck has that option from the factory what would it operate? And what fuse controls this? Did you have to add a fuse because the factory did not have 1 installed for this pin. I'm going to add footwell lighting and a glovebox light off of this pin. Can't believe what these trucks cost and not even a glovebox light. Thanks for making this video, it explains so much. I could not believe how dim these trucks are at nite. GM really dropped the ball with interior lighting.
The pin is an open pin - probably something is used on the SUV's - Tahoe/Suburban/Escalade. On our trucks it is not used. It ties back to the interior lighting. As for a fuse - anything labeled overhead light or something similiar to that I think would work.
Pull the tire pressure sensors up on the dash - press and hold the middle button (the scrolling button) on the right side of steering wheel until it beeps/enters the programming mode.
@@bonecrrusherSS my tool box has been shoved in a storage container for 2 years and I’m finally closing on a new house in a week. The detached garage is going to be my shop. I have an 84 C10 that I drove through high school that will be getting a frame off restoration that I’ve been itching to get started.
Really nice, I'll install it on my silverado. Could you please tell what are those white lights on the sides of the grill? They look awesome. Thank you 👍🏼
The top lights? Those are stock. Are you in Australia? Those are present in your truck - you need to pop off the grill and I think you can just plug them in.
How is the drive shaft now please? Looking to get this for my c7. How bad is the noise? Did you notice an increase in performance. My biggest worry is engine damage with no guibos
(Used to be D.S.) Called AEV. They told me they will not sell me a bumper for my 22 because it will not fit. My work around for perches will be to have a friend with a 24 AEV order it using his VIN. Looking forward to following this project!
The reason companies use downloadable instructions rather than printed is to simplify the revision process. For instance, if you have 2,000 of these boxed up and in the warehouse and you need to make a revision to the printed instructions, you have to open up 2,000 boxes and switch the instructions to the newest revision. If they are online, then everyone is instantaneously using the latest revision.
Shoot, if you're struggling with this, with all your tools and experience and whatnot, the odds of me having any meaningful diagnosis or repair are so close to "zero" that the practical result is essentially zero. Thank you for the video. I am now super discouraged.
I should have remembered the RTV that was on the headers when I bought them - so looks like the previous guy had problems as well. This solved most of my problems with the exhaust leak.
@@bonecrrusherSS Without knowing the exact nature of the issue or the cause of that issue, my gut tells me that RTV is a band-aid fix. I'm glad it worked out for you, but if having a thick gooey gasket did the trick, then something is warped, misaligned, or interfering somewhere.
Thank you so much for this video and the information. Just finished footwell lights in my Silverado and have my Sierra all wire up, just have to plug into the BCM. I used LED strips both front and back and it came out great. I mounted the back lights on the under-seat storage and put in a blade connector in the event the storage bin needs to be removed. This would also be a great mod for those that want running board courtesy lights - I have seen a ton of posts on this and nobody knows where to tap in for the step lights. Thanks again and keep the information coming!
I just looked and my 24 has the black connector on the BCM and I see as you said it would be basically impossible to plug the wire into it without pulling the connector out. But to me that would be the most difficult part of this project. And I think I'll ponder where to put lights for the rear as well. The dome light might as well not even exist. Very low light output. Again thanks for posting!!
I had a 22 Ram previous to my 24 Silverado I have now. The Ram same thing no footwell lights. I bought a set of wheel well lights and used those. More than bright enough. Think I'll use them on my Silverado. Thanks for posting!!!
Does the sheet metal block the functionality of the welding clamps? Seems like it won’t allow some of the fixtures/clamps to function properly by going all the way down into the hole.
Glad I watched this video... I was about to go get the 72" husky at HD but it's black on black. This gray and black has good contrast to denote where a drawer stops and the new one begins. You said you spent $1300ish on the 72" but I missed how much you spent on the 27."
