Yeh I have seen a few vids with the interactive map, that would add to the video for sure. Might do this for my next ride or an ultra. Thanks for watching 🙏
Hmmm...Is it that simple.... If you don't know one or two things about science-based long-term training, there are only three rules you should follow: Get a coach, get a coach and get a coach! Otherwise chances are high that you pay a shitload of money to enter an IM and you'll have the worst day of your life on the course.
It is all about research, trial and error. The content from my video is based off my own personal training plan from my own personal coach. It is based on scientific based long term training that you speak of and as a coach myself, I prepare similar training programs for my clients. So I’ve followed your 3 rules of coach coach coach this coming from x2 coaches. Each training plan differentiates based on individuals, however this is a great base plan for those who cannot afford a coach as this was the case for me early on. So my intent is to share scientific based research of a plan designed for myself to help those in the community. I choose to help as many as I can and am very careful about sharing proven methods as opposed to opinions. Thank you for your opinion and I appreciate you watching my video 🙏
Yeh I did see that problem with a few. Thankfully mine are okay. I read one post where someone was taking their shoe off using the other foot on the heel of the shoe, definitely not recommended due the design of that heel. Thanks for watching, appreciate you 🙏
@@EnduranceAaron Hohoho! I know which reddit post you are referring too! Luckily yours is in good shape. I love the shoe but I hate the quality control issues. In Singapore, there are cases where the entire midsole split/cracked and separated from the upper. Still, all of us could not get a refund and only a 1 to 1 exchange. Perhaps it could be an environment issue but for a shoe which I only ran 3 times and under 30km, it's quite unacceptable :( Love your content, keep it up!
Up to the tapering you were putting out really good information. But there have been not only a hand full of studies which have shown that reducing volume and keeping intensity is a more effective way to taper. Still a very informative video, confirming that everything I have been doing so far was right. I‘m a semi professional ultra endurance cyclist trying to spice things up a little with an Ironman
Yeh I am in complete agreement with you. It’s a real kind of greyish area with studies showing/saying positive and negative to intensity. I am like you though, I still do interval stuff in the lead up. I guess I’m just paranoid of tapering flu 🤧 😂 End of the day individually it’s important to be in tune and understand our bodies. So many factors can affect each person. Thank you for watching and best of luck with your endurance cycling, sounds fun 🤩 🙏 appreciate your comment
Yeh definitely doable. I was slower on course than the year before, but spent no time aid stations this year so overall faster. Next year a solid sleep before I’ll be sweet 😂 appreciate you. Just finished filming Part B will be out tomorrow
So, on that 😂 I definitely have a story to tell and it will be in the form of a race recap as things went bad too worse from before I even left Australia that included a head injury, to arriving at the start line of the race and leaving my camera in the taxi. So unfortunately no footage, however there is definitely an engaging story to tell and more, so I’ll be writing that script in the coming days and popping a video out. Thanks a heap and appreciate the follow 🙏
If these weren't nike no one would buy them. Not with all those faults and durability issues. But it's Amazing what you can get away with for the "cool" factor. Even I am tempted but can't justify the price. Sticking with my max cushion trainers for my bang for buck!!
Thank you for watching I appreciate it. Yeh I get what you’re saying, there’s always that hype being a show from ‘the big boys’. And exactly agree with the comment after, there are just as great alternatives if not better in certain areas for a more justifiable price. End of the day I absolutely love them, I’ve had zero issues and they perform extremely well for me, but 100% agree the price tag is ridiculous 🤯
You lot went past me literally running down the pyg track as I was on the way up early.. added 20+ minutes to my ascent letting everyone go past! 😅 Still, as I said then, much rather you than me!
Aww bless ya. Yeh it was a busy one out there. I made sure to say a big thanks to those who made way for us and tried not to be too much of a pain 😂 Thanks for watching 🙏
@@EnduranceAaron not at all, it was mad to see all you nutters going for it and the day was so incredible we lost nothing by slowing down a bit. Great vid and solid presenting, earned a sub!
Yeh great question, something I didn’t cover. I’m 6”0 so I set mine to about 130cm. Rule of thumb generally is the handle should be about 6-8 inches above your elbow. There’s plenty of good advice online and that’s how I learnt, then just adapted them slightly to be comfortable for me. Depends on the poles as well, some will have less flexibility to adjust than others. Thanks for watching and good luck when using yours Kim. Take care 😃
Great video. That was me at 7:35 and 7:43. I remember seeing you on the road back to collect your poles. After throwing up 4 times, you did well to make up time on Mynydd Mawr and get to the third checkpoint under the cut-off. You must have overtaken me on the road home, finishing 7 places ahead of me. That 3rd hill was a real killer for a lot of people. Good run. Well done.
A fellow Ozzie! Looks you had one HOT date! 🥵😍 Love that you bumped into Simba from BTR & well done on the finish! Great video Aaron 👊🏽 Don’t suppose I can tempt you into a UTS 100 miles with me next year instead of the km? 😉 Oh, & Good luck in two weeks!
Gday 🙌 it was definitely one hot date 🔥 she tested me 😂 Yeh Simba is just such a top guy. I will attempt a 100mile in 2025 as I’ll have x4 100k’s under the belt by then, however I’ll probably do 100 mile flat 😂 Snowden I must show her respect 😂
@@EnduranceAaron Gday! 🇦🇺 She might have been too hot haha, You know it’s bad when people desperately turn to questionably green ponds & lakes for extra water 🙈 Yeah, top lad! Haha, well bring on 2025! Love your vlog style, & I’m super keen to follow the journey mate! 👊🏽 Crush it
@@ActiveIdeas yeh I was drinking from anything 🤣 probably why I fell sick 🤢 Yeh looking forward to pushing out some more vids. Next one should be epic London to Brighton straight after working the 3rd longest flight in the world 🤪
@@EnduranceAaron hahaha, glad it wasn’t just me! 🤢 But hey, it’s a week later and we’re still alive 😉 Oh wicked! I’ve wanted to do that Brighton/London route for ages now, smash it! Bloody hell 🤣 LDN Heathrow to Perth WA remains the single worst flight of my life 🤣 RIP
Was great to see your previous video of Snowdonia. What a fulfilling challenge. I can hardly imagine running 100km let alone the time it would take XD I would guess 12:39. Keep up the great vids.
Henry mate! I actually checked the results to find you as was hoping you’d get it done. Epic effort 👏 and thanks a heap for keeping me going, some good chats and laughs. You’re a legend 🙌 Rest up and if you’re ever in Brighton area give us a shout 🍻
Great cause and truly inspiring challenge. Good luck with it. P.S. I can't believe you managed to get Ben to be serious for at least part of the video.
Hi thank you 🙏 Just starting out my RU-vid journey so followers will come. Just grateful to be able to share my journey with everyone. Really appreciate you watching. We are blessed here in Brighton 🙌 🏖️ Thank you for watching and your kind words
Honestly my favourite saying. Too often people can’t go far because they simply go too fast. It’s putting the ego aside, slowing down, and that’s how you’ll go far #farnotfast When I find my heart rate is spiking I say that phrase to myself. Many thanks for watching 🙏
Yeh I think there is definitely a good argument there. I guess it depends on whether you’re a heal striker or mid to forefoot striker. I found in the first version the heal area had little if any durability whereas at least they’ve added traction to the heal of version 3, even if it is small. I definitely hear you though. I’ll probably wear these purely for races so hopefully get a good life out of them. Thanks a heap for watching and your comments 🙏
Absolutely. It’s on my list to do a 70.3 training plan. Best of luck in June in your race 💪 I’ve got a couple pencilled in and looking forward to those. Thanks for watching 🙏
Thanks Stu 🙏 Yeh it’s 100k run straight after working the 3rd longest flight in the world Perth Australia direct to London. Land at 5am and will head straight to start line. All for charity so I’ll be tired but for a good cause ❤️ Thanks again for watching 🙏
Great video! Great job summerizing everything so easily. Im doing my first ironman on June! Last months are very tricky, i personally think i ramped up my training a little too fast and wasnt feeling great. I tuned backed and reworking towards it again. Seems much better now.
That’s awesome 👏 I hope it goes really well for you. Half the battle is mentally in training, I used to beat myself up if I wasn’t hitting targets. Definitely listen to your body, and like I said “you’re doing more than most out there anyway” so well done. Let me know how you go in June. Thanks for watching 🙏
@@EnduranceAaron Hello Aaron! Thanks for checking up! I was very happy to read your message. I did it last weekend! I did the Ironman Nice and it took me 13h13m (1h30 swim/7h30 bike/3h54 run) I am happy that I managed to do a good run without stopping, I started with my usual pace of 4m45/km but ended with a 6m/km. The swimming was hard as the sea was a bit agitated and I need to get used to swimming in salty water for longer periods, but I am a terrible swimmer so I am happy. The hardest part was the bike as I am a heavier person, not exactly a great cyclist (I learnt how to ride a bike from zero just 3-4 years ago) and Nice is particularly hilly and a bit technical. It is extremely beautiful however... Next year I think I will try to focus more on the technique as I think that really held me down. I hope you are doing well and thank you again! Maybe eventually a follow up video "how to recover from an Ironman" ?
They will keep coming. Got a few days of filming coming up 🎥 Ironman training is one… Thanks for watching and always up for brainstorming for sure. Can shoot me an email aaron.stone.1984@gmail.com
Thanks Stu 🙏 They are actually proper Under Armour trail running shorts. Super lightweight, great pockets. Everyone thinks they’re board shorts which speak to my Aussie heritage 😂 🙌 🇦🇺 Thanks for watching 🙏
I competed in Phu Quoc Vietnam yes. I am undecided on DaNang race as I have an Ultra race in Wales same day. Hopefully I will come to DaNang though as I have friends racing and love Vietnam 🇻🇳 Last year I heard the race was 40 degrees 😧 🥵
@@EnduranceAaronYup last year it was just insanely hot & humid. The last part of bike & entire run is under the sun :). I got DNF due to swim. I knew that would happen as I had started how to learn how to swim for the first time as an adult 4 months before the race, and only 3 weeks before the race I was able to swim 2 kms in the pool. It was a good experience though since now I know I don't panic in the sea anymore. Hopefully, I make it out of the swim without getting kicked or used as a floating device by other bad swimmers. Btw, this year Vietnam will have heatwave from mid April till July.
@@HarishChouhan best of luck in Danang and with your swim. I’m glad you mentioned you are more calm in the swim now. I always say staying calm in the mind swimming is so important. Best of luck, I can’t make Danang but will be in Phu Quoc again for sure 👌🏽
Great information. Thanks for the vid. I have started training for a 70.3 and it will be my first tri. Those tips about being penalised are very good to know!
Thanks for watching Blake and best of luck with training and the event. Yeh depending on the Marshalls and organisers, some are stricter than others. Helmet is a big one, make sure to clip it on before touching the bike, and the reverse when coming in off your bike.. Go get it 💪
Thanks for watching. All the best with your swimming. Getting a swim coach for me was the difference. They don’t break the bank either. 3-4 lessons and I was on my way 👌🏽
