Hey, welcome to the channel, brother! Yes, it does a great job, even here now, almost a year later! Other than the air adjustment knob being cooked, the gun is functioning perfectly. Thanks for the compliment on the Cadillac!
To be honest with you I did not. There was a couple reasons I did not do any of that. The customer wanted a specific color out of the mix. With that being said even though I adjusted the amount of flake added I HAD to adjust the coats and all on the fly. There was NO test panels done for the final rendition of this color. If you go to my shorts and look at the video of me spraying the hood of this car with this exact same color. You will see that the actual color is supposed to be A LOT more vibrant and all. That video was the color on full tilt. What you see on the car is definitely NOT the same color. I achieved that by basing the entire car off of the amount of coats and pattern from the very first panel being sprayed. These Hybrid flakes carry your base color based on how much is applied. If that makes sense. Because they are pretty big flakes and are really nice chrome colored they can give off an entire different color depending on the basecoat you allow to come through.
These Hyundai carts use a lot of the same parts as a Yamaha G2. I bought the lift kit from Amazon for the 91' G2. Fits perfectly. Thanks for the compliment!
I appreciate it, bro. I actually haven't tried the A610 yet. I actually have another gun that I am going to be doing a review on soon. I used it to lay the basecoat on this truck, actually, and it did pretty well. I will get the A610, though, to check it out for sure. As far as the R500, it's literally a gem for the results you get from it. To get any type of speed out of it, you have to use a 1.5 tip, which is just a little big for the pressure the gun wants. I think the 1.3 is perfect, but it's just super slow, is all.
That’s funny, because I don’t have the R500. I have the A610 , and I found that the A610 is slow with the 1.3. I switched to a 1.5 and it was much better, and faster. Let me know if that’s what you experience when you get it. I wasn’t all that impressed with the A610 until I went to the 1.5, I’m starting to see what all the Hype is about. Like I said, let me know what you think when you get one.
The paint is measured by the size of the needle that is inside of the gun. Also, there is a fluid adjustment knob for finer adjustment. There is also an air adjustment knob which will allow you to fine tune your air flow. The main air adjustment is made on the compressor itself as well as the pressure regulator on the gun. I typically use my gun with the fan adjustment, air adjustment, and fluid adjustment all the way open.
You got skillz Bro. Mopar Guys are very particular about who they let work on their cars. They don’t let just anybody touch high dollar cars like that. It's called Rust Converter. SKYCO is the brand. It's really easy to use. Sand the rust out as much as possible, spray it on, and let it sit for 24 hours.
Well I"m glad watched this, I will take my new gun apart and check it out completely before using it. One would think a new gun would not be falling apart out the box. LOL! Look man I"m not being critical but you need to watch some videos of pros shoot paint. You are making all the beginner mistakes the way you shoot paint. You can do so much better if you take some time and learn from the pros about painting technique. Like I said I"m not trying to be critical, but I've been around for 64 years. I learned most of what I know from old dudes. rock on man.
Lol I really appreciate the advice, brother. I did not just begin painting. Before this video, I only used HVLP guns on a high-pressure setup. This video was to describe problems one may run into when going from an HVLP setup to an LVLP small compressor setup. The technique I used was on par with my previous setup. 😆 That was my first Spray. Check my recent videos bro, im killing ish! 💯

Welcome to the Channel Brother! Thanks for the subscription. I am working with a vendor right now on creating a product line for Hyper Shift Flakes. I am not quite ready to disclose any of that information. Although, if you search online, you can normally find these flakes for a pretty reasonable price. Anytime you are spraying flakes, there are a couple of things that can affect your outcome of the paint job. Using this LVLP R500 Spray Gun, I have my fan open as far as it can, and also, I have my flow open as far as possible. Keep in mind that I'm using a 1.3 tip, which also matters. Also when using an LVLP spray gun is because of the low pressure I have found that I get a much better fan from the gun if I use +10% to +20% on reducer when mixing for a base coat or an inner coat clear. The same would apply for a transparent pearl. The last thing you want is the material to be too thick because at that point, there is no right way to spray it. Yes, it did come out really nice! Honestly, I like the gun a lot. There are times that I wish it would lay faster, but my compressor loves it. So, it's a fair trade. I would say properly mixing your paint or clear for this gun is just as important as the gun setting itself. As always I appreciate the inspiration. 🙌
Yes sir, this one was a team job between me and my paint mentor. All of the stripes were painted in. This was a VERY nice build. This was back before I closed my shop.
