I think you will find that the Mersey tunnel s which are underwater tunnels were built way before Conway tunnel. The Queensway tunnel was built in 1934 and the Kingsway tunnel in 1971 .
Thanks for this correction - apologies, I have unfortunately missed out the key word "tube" in my sentence in the video. It should say Conway tunnel was the first underwater tube road tunnel in Britain. I'll put a note in the description.

I lived and worked in and around Ludlow for thirty years. I moved to the Berkshire area in 2014, but I do miss walking around the shops and visiting the market.
