I loved this show, but the mid-late fifties shows did`nt appeal to me as much, because they were shorter and there was no audience, no music, and to me weren`t as funny. Kind of the twilight period for the show.
Its a cool wet Christmas Eve , with no one about 24-12-23 🌲🎁🎊🎉 Merry Christmas , Greetings and Salutatons of the Season , to One and All . Cannot beat the old radio plays , and both radio and cinema serials= Cliff-hangers .
I Love this so much, her voice gives me a warn inner fuzzy glow. I can't help but think the world would Smile Brighter if she reappeared. Merry Christmas Cousin Bobbie!
That song sounds beautiful. Who knows which year it was originally released? I'd say it needs a potential remaster for a much better sound quality for future generations.
So, if we see everyone as children, if we admit others can have bigger urges than us and that we can help them, then we will feel that we are a part of the whole, and we'll enjoy a nice future 🙂
Can you please post the entire George burns early early christmas special please? I cannot find it anywhere, many thanks for sharing this classic show!
I will never forget one of the funniest routines they ever did was with the mayor called strange bedfellows what a funny bit I wish I could find it but it seems to only be on a tape called comedy radio comedians
I remember one where Mayor LaTrivia got tongue-tied talking about the dog catcher in Westchester. Gale Gordon played the mayor, he was a great radio player.
I am 72 and love vintage radio. Good clean comedy and no political correctness crapola. I remember some shows from childhood. My mother really got into it in the 70-80’s and I’ve been hooked ever since ❤️
Not sure if his name is spelled 'Peagran' on the record, but he sounds like the banjo player George Franklin Pegram from North Carolina that Art Rosenbaum recorded.
They still do the Yule log on WPIX. It's been a LI/NYC TV tradition like the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade/March Of The Wooden Soldiers double feature.
55:54- New York did *not* hear "FATHER KNOWS BEST" and Ralph Edwards' "TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES" on Christmas Eve, because WNBC-AM pre-empted those programs during the season for a local music and interview show, "MEET ME AT KAY'S", featuring singer Kay Armen and comedian Louis Nye. Eddie Cantor's program was pre-empted for a special 25 minute version of "A Christmas Carol", featuring Sir Laurence Oliver [recorded in England].
I love 💕 the Jack Benny radio 📻 and the tv 📺 shows also all the other classes. Nothing like the music 🎶 back in that time. Back in those good days was really music 🎼 and tv show movies 🎥 also comedy . 😊🍁🎄🦃 happy thanksgiving 🦃🍁 everyone.
The times were much better then, and the Shep was a great part of that. He would be 100 years old now, but I remember listening to him over half a century ago, when he was a younger man than I am now. Man how the time flies by, and it's amazing how much you love the past, once it's past, and only really appreciate life when you start to approach the end of it. A little Shep wisdom, I've gleaned from his broadcasts that are forever traveling into the great cosmos and beyond. Night all.
@@jasonbeard4713How cynical of you! Kids were not shooting kids ! The majority of people still at least tried to make a difference to keep this old world on a straight path……Today people only appear to care for themselves !Very few will go the extra mile to help .
@@J-ellO Oh things were always "better" back in the day . We glamorize the past and forget the bad parts. Why years from now some one will say " Things were better when I was growing up, the air was still somewhat breathable and we got to eat an extra potato every second week instead of Soylent Green all the time which was quite yummy in it's own right" ... Then some one else that's younger will chime in with "You're crazy, that Soylent Green was made from people with contaminated brains and that potato was actually congealed recycled poop."....Then another one will chastise the young guy for ruining the older man's memories of fun times 🤣
Just wonderful. Back when this country was Christian and even on the radio talked of the need for families to worship together. It's like a total different country we live in now. God help us.
Dear And WHICH CHRISTIAN would that be? There are 301 denominations; which one is your idea of when This country "was Christian"? My dear. Please check your education and 5th grade teacher- This country has never been designated Christian. It has always been ALWAYS BEEN non religious as to invite every person to worship at the religious center of their choice. Please do not make the mistake of making this nation the affiliated sister to Iran, Rome or Egypt, when a person must worship at the nationally prescribed center, church, Temple, or mousque. You worship your way. Please DoN't assume for me that my country in CHRISTIAN, when, in fact, my country is America. Family members Including: Methodist Lutheran Catholic Muslim and reform Judaism. M. Illinois. Elgin
@@mwatts-riley2688 Doesn't your penny say "In GOD we trust"? When you ask "Which Christian"? Any!...... Silly Billy! All Christian faith worship the same God and believe in Jesus. The only reason there are different denominations is people emphasize different aspects as being their priority. They don't think the others are going to H*ll or anything. You have some strange ideas. Have you even gone to church to see what they believe or do you prefer the social media cliff notes......
