Our Farm is located in the wet tropics of Far North Queensland near Mission Beach. We grow Jackfruit & Canistel and supply the Melbourne markets. This channel aims to showcase aspects of our farm life and the produce we grow.

As a special treat Angela came home with covid, we've managed to dodge it all this time, so we've both been coughing and sneezing and generally spent two weeks feeling sorry for ourselves.
I have 3 trees like above but I am not getting fruits at the time of crop small fruits are turning into black colour what can I do please guide us We are from India Telangana
The weed we are having issues with was a plant that was brought into Australia as an indoor plant. It would appear that someone has planted it outdoors somewhere. It is full of berries that the birds love but spread the seeds everywhere. It's not an exaggeration to say that by the time we've finished, we will have removed at least 500, maybe more.
The moon calendar only gives 2 days a month for pruning (day 3 and day 4) before a new moon. It would not be possible for ourselves to prune all our trees in this time period, so we just prune the trees when needed
it,s like most places you get told what to do by someone behind a desk who has not looked at the real problem , all you can do is your best . lol terry👍
Ian it’s difficult with tropical fruits and soil as so little reasearch has been done when compared to the sugar cane industry for example. They get told exactly what they need to put out and have fertiliser custom made based on their soil tests. Those of us with tropical fruit trees are largely flying blind.
Yes, it is difficult. There are so many different crops that it's just not viable for companies to do the research as they are small volume crops. Government departments again focus on large volume crops. We've had three different agronomists give three different recommendations, two of which worked for the same company. lol We just look at the results to help make our own decisions and, to be honest, find leaf analysis the most beneficial over soil analysis.
glad all is going well up there hope it stays that way and you and angela make a lot more trees of different types ready for market lol terry all the best .

What are you doing with the Jack fruit. I have not seen this product in super markets in Australia. I am originally from Sri Lanka. We eat jackfruit in many ways like boiled jackfruit. Jack fruit tree in Sri Lanka grows to big size and use as a hard wood and it is second most expensive timber species in Sri Lanka. I grow jack fruit as a food item in my garden in Sri Lanka.
