My name is Valinda, I have a Master's Degree in Plant Science with a Minor in Climate Change. I am passionate about sustainability and helping others create an eco-friendly living for themselves and their loved ones. Switching to a zero waste (ish) lifestyle can be overwhelming and I hope my videos help you make small changes so we all can have a big impact.
So you can attach them to each other and roll them onto a roll but this is not needed if you don't want them on a roll. They will not stay on a roll without the snaps.
We are NOT loosing forests due to climate change. Instead we are gaining forests due to CO2 fertilization. Increased CO2 means more plant food. NASA's global Leaf Area Index (LAI) clearly shows a net gain of at least 3 million square kilometer of forests in the last 40 years or so and a global vegetation increase of about 30%. This is almost entirely due to the beneficial effects of CO2 as a fertilizer and its effect of reducing plants water requirement. We are carbon based life forms, we should celebrate having more CO2 and the 2 billion people who entirely depend on the resulting increased agricultural output.
Hi from Oz. Great review! They do have a fragrance free range for sensitive skin that might suit you better. The shampoo bar is called Bar Minimum and the conditioner is called In the Buff. Looking at what was on the shelf in your video, I would suggest trying Pinkalious if your hair is more on the normal side or Frizz Wrangler if it is drier. Pinkalious has more of a vanilla kind of scent (my fave) and Frizz Wrangler is more coconut. I have also never had an irritated scalp but mine is not that sensitive. Wonderbar is also a great conditioner with a coconutty/vanilla scent. It is lighter than The Guardian but still very conditioning.
I swear i got an advertisement from temu before i could watch your video lol not that i will ever buy there. It is extremely rare that i order something that will be shipped from outside Europe, usually i can find it in a webshop in my country, or a neighbour country. I also don't like returning just because i made a wrong choice and not happy with it. I did it once with an oven and felt a bit guilty about it. Funny thing is, later i order the perfect oven from Germany, i was happy when unboxing it, and then it didn't want to switch on 😱. So i took my tools and opened it and luckily it was easy to fix, just something loose because of rough transport. So no need to return it, that compensates for that first oven that i returned earlier.
Organic cotton is a more viable crop than chemical cotton. Organic cotton really means naturally grown, using organic fertilizers and natural defenders of the plant. Organic saves water, and avoiding pesticides makes it safer for humans in every step of production. Water conservation is also important, and soil regeneration. Cotton is self pollinating, and the seeds are sold for cattle feed, so farmers can't complain about cross pollination with other cotton fields. Organic cotton can even be hand picked profitably, creating jobs, reducing the use of fossil fuels. Organic cotton is grown with mulch that holds the moisture in the soil, reducing water loss, and organic cotton yields more than chemical cotton crops, because no growth regulator means a larger plant and that really does equal more cotton bolls, using less water, and thousands of dollars of savings on input costs. Cotton can grow as a perennial in subtropical areas that don't have hard freeze for hours, and the plants can live 2 to 5 years, giving like gainbusters all that time, eliminating the need for annual mechanized planting, reducing fossil fuel use in those areas. Insecticides kill the natural defenders of the plants. It's an environmental hazard.
Oh what, how did this little gem with just 150 views get on my timeline! ♥️ I won't complain though, please continue with your videos! Your anecdotes and tips are actually relatable :)
Yes, hemp is often mixed with other materials to improve it. Hemp is a very rough fabric that needs cotton to make it more wearable. A fabric can indeed be made stretchy by mixing it with polyester. There is also a way of weaving yarn into a fabric that can make it stretch but I don't see that very often.
06:18✅Bamboo linen - no chemical exposed to workers; the component remains till the end of the process 08:30✅Bamboo Lyocell - no chemical exposed to workers ; hypoallergenic ABOVE ALL Bamboo not good for soil, less durable if on its own. Thank you so much for these, very insightful ! Now I know who to work with when starting a sustainable business.
I do agree with most of what you say. But, I do buy shoes used when they are lightly used, never had a problem. I spray with lysol before using. I bought a vacuum second hand. It has now lasted 8 years.old. I think we can get a little too worried about germs.
In some cases, like shoes, it is also common sense. Barely worn slippers are very different from well worn trekking boots. I would buy the former but not the latter as the shape of shoes changes when it is worn.
Sound logic here!! It can be easy to get caught up in trying to save money and not contribute to wastefulness as much as possible but there really are good reasons to purchase some things new. Subscribed :)
I have a question. Does this shampoo should create any lather while rubbing hair? I made similar once and in my hands it's lather up but when I put it on my hair it's stops, there's nothing happens and hair become not nice in touch 😒
I think like with a lot of things its about balance and being pragmatic. Given the choice, i would choose organic, not because its better for you but like you said its what they are sprayed with. My great grandfather started a a vegetable farm, passed down to my grandfather & my father. They used round up which was deemed safe back then and a lot of the workers died young from weird illnesses and cancer. My great grandfather and grandfather both died of cancer, my grandfathers was somehow proven to be from the use of roundup. My father is still healthy thank god. The newer pesticides are only deemed safe now because they havent been proven unsafe yet. I try not to think about it too much, there are certain foods i will only buy organic and there are foods which i dont for various reasons, 1 being they are easier to wash. I use the dirty dozen as a guide. I also dont usually look for organic cotton clothing either. We've grown organic veg in our own gardens and its not easy. Some years have been a complete flop. If we didnt have supermarkets to fall back on and this was our only source of food, we would have to use various pesticides.
I throw ten soapnuts in the crock pot with a lemon or orange rind and simmer a few hours, cool, squeeze, and strain. I wash my clothes with this liquid. I love it!
Depending where you live and what utility company you have there are lease or PPA options. Solar if free if you on know what incentive and rebates you can qualify for.
I have been using True Earth for several years. I am a retired older adult so I don't get my clothes extremely dirty. Best idea ever! I put a few in my bug out bag too!
Lather is just bubbles. It says nothing over its cleansing power. A foaming agent is often added to commercial cleaners for customers experience bit it is not a surfactant.
