Crystal sprites are so refined and masterful that seeing gen1 pokemon in them is kinda annoying after getting used to goofy sprites of RBY. Crystal is that perfect guy who does your job, and does it better than you.
Abra having one eye almost open in gold version is really cool, probably the coolest Abra sprite in any game. 3:42 Paras' sprites in gold and crystal and Parasect's sprite in silver and gold almost look like OG Gen I sprites. 2:55 Silver's Vileplume sprite is the best, so distinguished. 3:32 Dittos gold sprite is melting. 3:50 Wobbuffet's silver sprite looks depressed. 4:27 Golducks Crystal sprite is probably the only sprite in that game to lose more color, it's really weird. 5:46 Silver's staryu sprite can get up, same with Starmie. 6:57 Silver's Mantine sprite is really unique, looks like its flying. 8:12 Silver probably has the only sprite depicting Mew standing up. 10:24 Over all i like crystal the best especially because of how they move though that usually means they chose less dynamic positions. Gold seems to me to have the highest highs and lowest lows but has some of my favorites. Silver is just consistently super solid and is my runner up to Crystal.
The sprite from nidoqueen and nidoking was in the blue edition better. And the colors from raichuis in red/green/blau correct, but in yellow is ot yellow and not orange. The rest is in yellow better. The sprites from red/green/blue has a nostalgic vaipe.
GF hadn’t hit that point yet, the real reason is because gold and silver are actually original gameboy games that get color enhanced when played on a GBC. The original gameboy wouldn’t be able to do animated sprites. Crystal on the other hand is a true game boy color game it won’t work on the original gameboy and thus they were able to use the power of the GBC to add animated sprites.
@@renatoramos8834 Did you not understand what I said? The Gameboy couldn’t do animations for over 200 Pokémon but the gameboy color could. Crystal is the only true gameboy color game from Gen 2 and takes advantage of the hardware. Gold and Silver at their core are just regular Gameboy games.
I kind of wish that they would make 10th gen done in the retro-style graphics. I miss the nostalgic Blue Version graphics. I know it would probably not be an overly popular decision, but having the newest gen done in the graphic style of the first games would be pretty cool. Also, does anyone else hate the fact Dugtrio doesn't look angry anymore?
There's a sort of magic to Poekemon sprites that 3D models can't capture. I wish we'd get a throwback game - new Pokemon, regions, etc, but in the sprite and such format. It's just...better IMO
I do not think it is actually better, but yeah having one throwback gen that had new Pokemon in a new region done in the OG graphic style would be really cool. It is something I have wanted pretty much ever since they brought them into 3D. I personally prefer the Black and White graphic style with the cool idle animations over all of the other graphic styles even including the newest.
@@MegaJesseman I do genuinely think it's better myself. I haven't felt the same level of charm seeing a Pokémon since Gen IV. Gen VI really just made 'em dead but Gen V's constantly moving sprites for me started it. I want a new game in a throwback style to Gen II
You can tell that crystal got most of their sprites from gold or they got half and half from Gold and silver and they chose the best looking sprites in their opinion or whatever the company voted for which sprite should be in Crystal from the other two games and also some of the Pokémon have exclusive sprites as well in Crystal like houndoom and Pikachu kind of
I prefer the Pokedex order here over the Nationaldex we are used to see in all the games! Everything is organized according to new cross-gen evolutions and the top tier "KanJo" pokemon are placed in the end.
