Hello there, I love to show off games that I enjoy. I generally do a mix of Commentary, Boss Fights, Combo Videos, and Guides. I deal with some health issues, so if there's a gap in video releases sometimes, I apologize.
It's crazy that this girl just straight up has a invincibility code, I got a new evo type that I'ma try in mind trials once my new save file unlocks them, still need to get most endings for the achievements and all that
Oho I knew the initial rachel I had made still had work to go on the potentials since i didn't get all the ones i wanted. Kokonoe still clears these incredulously even faster than even this but I see some very useful potentials I need to work towards on rachel. What setup of potentials does this one have? I will say so far i've been quite impressed w/ rachel myself. she so far has felt like the 2nd best character in my tests so far IF you can get the potentials right, though maybe if I can get them perfected she could give even koko a run for her money? Of course my time uses different potentials as the setup as well, the ol' black hole strat. Though I can confirm black hole is ungodly good w/ rachel as well, though I see she has other very useful techs too especially if I can get better potential sets. I noticed you had a lot of the bat ones, but whenever I used the bats they didn't seem to heal anything worth a damn or do decent damage. Is there something to them I'm missing? Though I know the lightning rods are key and probably the froggos are good if you can fit em in though her large number of potentials makes it quite hard to get all the right ones. But I'm quite interested in pushing her to her limits and so I wanted to pick your brain on it!
@vgpharaoh1344 This one is missing some of the Attack, Input Commands, Bat, and Pumpkin upgrades. Even when manipulating each shop to have 3 potentials, I still ended up 10 Potentials away from having all of them. Her main potentials seem to be her wind, lightning rods, and lightning upgrades. I haven't tested the input commands outside of the Invulnerability yet, though. The bats aren't too good, but they can be useful for proccing attack tactics. The hard part is being able to balance both Tactics and the insane amount of potentials she needs. I should've had Rend or something else in my attack slot, but I was trying to see if I could get all potentials with this character.
@Fury-ju6md wow tysm! While it doesn't work for shops, if you get a tactic space you can force the element you want by closing out if it doesn't find the element you want and then rechecking. Like say I get fire n ice but I want umbra to show up. If you reset instead of choosing and check again new tactic elements show up. If you use this alongside what you showed me you can truly make perfect chars both tactic and potentials wise if you use the legacy system to force red tactics you want. But it'd be miserable to do. It really does seem impossible to get everything on some chars like Rachel since they have too many potentials though...
Dang, you went IN on him, lol! Especially at the end. Ya'll made some crazy combos. Shame that some of the other ones couldn't make the cut; can't always get the perfect run(but that's what after-takes are for =03). When's the coveted 4P fight? =03
@@frubam I'd love to do some 4P stuff for Abyss or other games one of these days when Horangi is back from his trip. Assuming we can get schedules to align for it...
...Yeah, Ragna with the right suite of Potentials is definitely worth "The Only Thing They Fear Is You". Feels super powerful but his playstyle's still fun (rather than a certain character's near permanent invincibility).
It's pretty funny going from constantly being afraid of dying while playing as some other characters, and then just being able to ignore damage entirely with Ragna once you've got everything set up.
I'm always impressed by your skill at this game. Sure I can be really strong but I always feel kinda cheap in how I do things. What are some fun tactics setups you've made that felt good? Like yeah black hole strategy I use is probably the "strongest" or if not deffo among em but I wanna try to be a better player and do more cool stuff too! Also who do you think the best characters are?
@vgpharaoh1344 I have a list of my most used tactics, as well as some fun combos here: docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-ZsoY7vQfxMn8DqG-aIdg3vM70e3vgIymhGDQ83U1Sc/edit?usp=sharing I think something that helped me the most with getting better is gradually working up to 70-75 Entropy. At that Entropy, you can start selling Tactics you don't need for high profit and then use the extra EP for more Potentials. Characters without a lot of Potentials tend to get stuck spamming the same few moves over and over, and it holds back the game's combat a lot. If I wasn't able to use all of a character's moveset, these videos wouldn't look anywhere near as good as they do.
@@Fury-ju6md oh that is helpful thank you! I actually had tried the lightning+spear setup and was one I used to use before black hole so I know that ones good. I'll have to give the cold stuff more a shot though as well as the lightning. A fire one was good though? I'll have to try that out as well! I will say it had been tough finding setups that allow me to fill all 5 slots though almost none of them allow that. But even 4 spotters can be really good I've seen. Still trying to get that perfect kokonoe with ALL the potentials and the set up though since least for me she seemed best granted the black hole worked best for her. Like tbf it works well for everyone but hakumen (his whole schtick is counter foes but if they can't attack he can't counter as much) but I really am excited to try some of these out.
@@vgpharaoh1344 Honestly, you don't need to fill all of the Tactics unless you want to. It can be fun to experiment with different builds, so if that's how you enjoy the game by all means do that. Selling Tactics is more of a min-maxing type of thing, rather than a requirement for making strong characters. The problem I've found after many hours of trying builds, is that a majority of the Tactics in this game are extremely underpowered. Tactics also do not scale well in damage towards the end of runs. For this reason, I usually stick to 2-3 Tactic Types to focus on. Attack/Skill slots will generally be the main source of DPS or AoE. Summons are okay for support or automatic damage, and Summon Ice Spikes is very powerful with Frost Burst. Other than that, I don't find Dash slot to be very useful aside from the Fire Spirits build and Shadow Spikes + Shadow Dash Red effect. Legacy I tend to find useless aside from Black Hole and Lightning Impulse. There are builds out there that use the slots differently, so take this as more of general information and not strict rules on anything. As an example, I'll share the Tactics setup I used here: Rend: This isn't actually doing much damage itself, but I took it for two of it's upgrades. One of the upgrades gives you a 20% damage boost while Rend is on, and the other lets you execute enemies at low health. Frost: Ragna has a ton of MP moves, so the damage boost from Frost Skills is a huge DPS increase. Frost Burst also works very well on the multi-hits of his SP skill and Devoured By Darkness. Summon Radiance: This is also here just to boost my damage. So out of the Tactics, I've built things mainly only to boost my character's damage. Frost Burst does also give me a decent DPS increase, but it doesn't do nearly as much as my character's damage with this many Potentials.
@@megasoniczxx One of the things I especially appreciate about the movement is that a lot of attacks also work as movement tools. I always love it when games do that.
It's always fascinated me how much how much technical depth and complexity an obscure japan only psp game like this has. I can only imagine the hand breaking movements you have to do to hit optimal combos
First, you'll want to get the HD pack from Life Bottle and check the tutorials on their Discord if you haven't already. After that, you can download these files and use them to replace the ones in the HD pack. They need to go in the: replacements > UI > Portraits > Battle folder. If it asks you to replace files, you put it in the right place. Hit yes to replace the files, and then you should have the portraits. I did change one or two of them since this video, so they may be different than what you see here.
@@muhannadgamers9018 Sorry, I forgot to link the files: www.mediafire.com/file/xuqfoiq8aj82e19/Alternate_Battle_Portraits.rar/file If you don't want to use the the HD pack, you can just only have these files in the Replacements folder.
Fairy Circle to kill the adds was well pulled off, I never would have used it like that! The hitboxes in this fight can be a real nightmare for casters I imagine, so nice work pulling this off! Looking forward to more Fury!
@normalpair Glad to hear that it's helpful! I also made some other similar commentaries for Lambda and a Guide as well. She's definitely my favorite character. I love all of the summoned weapons.
Great work Fury! You made Tear melee look super easy LOL I loved the two missed pow hammers into one finally landing too. Also the HP check to make sure the extension of the MA wouldnt kill was great, good job calculating that :D
@hoboayoyo If the enemy is still down when the Mystic starts hitting, they take reduced damage. If the enemy stands up before the Mystic starts hitting, they should take normal damage after some time. Some mystics can also hit often and long enough that the enemy gets fully restanded.
Good work keeping them both under control while making time to cast. I imagine one of the harder parts of this fight (like you said) is getting Enhance Cast up in the first place. But the AOE on tear's spells seem to make quick work of them! Just a matter of casting at the right time! Great work Fury! You keep impressing!
I was really curious as to who this third player was going to be when I saw this video pop up. Of course, you had to call in Mr. Stove to defeat Mr. Beast :o This was really fun to watch! FoFs were on point and I loved seeing some of the cool combos possible with this trio. X-BUSTER in combos goes hard haha. Bloody Howling also seems like a very fun arte to play around due to the lift it has!
It was a lot of fun to work with you two! I admit I wish I didn't take that hit, the take was pretty consistent despite the chaos! :P That last combo went crazy, holy. O:
I gotta say bro, free run spell cancels are addicting as hell. Literally every spell cancel i do IS a free run cancel or i view it as a combo drop lol. But i assume for people who have played this game before the tech was discovered it would feel weird to undo the muscle memory for normal spell cancels. Also i'm curious if it's alright to ask how did you get that new health icon and mystic arte artwork for asch?
Texture replacement on emulator. If you're using the HD pack, you can go into the textures folder and edit the images to your own. If you weren't using it for some reason, you'd have to turn on texture dumping to find the textures and then use texture replacement after you changed them.
That double Glacial Core setup was neat, the first one threw me off because I thought it'd whiff but you got it with its lingering hitbox. You love to see it.
It's gotta be one of my favorite setups of any game. It's just a shame that it needs to be a small enemy to work since small enemies have light weight, which screws up a lot of combo options for Rowen.
Really glad to hear that my words could reach someone that needed it! If you do decide to upload, feel free to let me know! I'd be happy to see what you make.
This is an interesting video. I do wanna ask if this still works though as i noticed that nowadays they sell for 80 not 130 for selling tactics so you no longer make a profit selling white tactics unless they happen to be on sale. It's an interesting idea though my biggest issue was finding enough potentials consistently out of the shops though my highest attack power kokonoe myself was a 400%er who also got all 5 red tactics w/ careful uses of the legacy stuff. I feel like given your build likes set up you might really appreciate using the black hole tentacle+black hole slow on one of your legacy chars as it'd give you a very easy time to set that up and also vs groups would pull in everyone to one area so you just go big boom on everything at once while being less likely to get mobbed. It also wouldn't take much more than 1 or 2 umbras to get too so it might help the early game out a lot too! Let me know what you think about it.
It still works the same way, you just need to be at 70+ Entropy to get the max value out of selling. Otherwise, you can't max out on potentials as easily. 75 Entropy is even better, because it gives the extra shop refresh. Black Hole Tentacles are a very good point for this build, and I'd highly recommend them. Not just for this build, but in general. I did try them out at some point after this video, and they're extremely strong. My only problem with them is that I get bored while using them. I love needing to incorporate moving around the stage efficiently while clearing mobs, and the automatic black holes took away a lot of that for me. Just a personal thing though, it's definitely a great setup for a legacy character.
@@Fury-ju6md Oh that's the key. I only saw stuff up to 45 so i thought it only gave me the things up to 45 entropy. so even though it doesn't show it, higher entropy does give you a small number of bonuses eh? I was wondering if I could use this strat since there was an in game achievement to get all the potentials in 1 run and I had been at a loss as to how i'd do that. The highest attack % I ever got was 420% which while high isn't even close to EVERY achievement. I was curious if you'd ever gotten all the potentials in 1 run before w/ this? I can grant that auto black hole w/ black hole slow can kinda... stop the enemies from playing the game so I can understand finding them less preferable. Thing was you are right that after the reg enemies usually most tactics aren't all THAT damaging compared to kokonoe herself esp vs bosses so i was wondering if there are other particularly useful setups that both help vs bosses and the minions as well as that black hole thing did. If you're curious I ran black hole tentacle+black hole slow on taokaka (dat extra damage on 30 combo is free attack bonus for someone who hits as much as kokonoe does) but know you really want black hole duration on it as w/ it at a high enough rank (purple+ seemed comfortable for me though maybe blue can suffice) you can loop your 2 legacies and lock down bosses w/ it basically and electric detox+toxic poison bomb on jin since his slow time when you dodge successfully is way too good to pass up esp on bosses as it opens up major counterattacks and the lightning chains cause poison so you don't need to kill, which in turn lets you poison bosses adding both lightning chain and poison status to the bosses which will increase your damage with that one implant that boosts attack based on the amount of status on the foe (with this you'd have slow, freeze off jin's legacy, burn off the fire from explosions of components, stun from the poison itself and lightning chain giving a 100% extra attack bonus off that 1 thing) as well as the toxic+poison bomb one as the other as well... it actually really helps w/ mobs on the way and it was hard to fit another one in there. But basically vs mobs you trap em in black hole, they get hit by lightning, poisoned, then when they tick poison they can drop bombs as well (this is great when enemies are spread out so the ones in the black hole just off themselves while you deal w/ threats) while the black hole itself and the extra status off the lightning+toxic are great for bosses as well. if you get a buncha umbras because rng just decreed that, you can even get shadow explosions in your dash slot to have all 5 slots filled w/ red tactics which is nice too (if you get the shadow upgrade that makes it so when you dash all enemies spawn a shadow as well, it is surprisingly great for dealing w/ mobs together w/ the lightning chain that poisons and generates poison bombs when everyone gets hit by a billion shadows at once since everyones in 1 area) But I was curious to try new set ups that could be still useful but different since you got good setups in general. Also how consistent are higher entropy runs? Because least for me I did struggle to get that 100 entropy win mostly because its hard to get what you need fast enough w/ all the restrictions. or are higher entropy runs just less consistent in general?
@vgpharaoh1344 As you keep going past 45 entropy, all of the benefits start to increase in value. It's very subtle, but the icons for them do change. I've seen a lot of people miss it though, it's very easy to. The all potentials achievement is going to be tough. I still need to try it myself, and if I find a good way, I'll make a video. Off the top of my head, I know that Mai has the least amount of potentials and also her stance move that costs MP to hold down gives invincibility. So this would probably be the easiest way to maximize on perfect boss kill mind shard. 100 Entropy will always have a layer of rng to it, but I was able to get it fairly consistent with perfect legacy characters and the mind shard that gives extra potential refreshes. Even then some runs you just don't get the right potentials or get nuked by some attacks and die instantly. Some of the room layouts can be extremely nasty in 100, especially when you don't have the right tools to deal with them.
