We love our GX! Coming from Jeep Wranglers, we were wanting to get a vehicle that was reliable, comfortable and capable. Leather seats isn't a bad touch either. 😜
This channel will be about our journey of getting into overlanding as a family. Most of the channels we saw were pretty intense and way over our heads. This is for those just getting into it and need some inspiration as you build your rig and get outside!
My goal is to help you as much as I can to get out there safely, have a blast and not break the bank doing it! #AvantLink
I have one of the original Kickstarter stoves and I find especially recently that the valves are becoming harder and harder to regulate the flame. If you're looking for medium to high flame it's not a problem but when you want to regulate it down to just a slow flame to simmer it's almost as if the valve bounces back it's almost impossible to keep it at a low simmer type flame and that happens on both sides.
I hope you're still responding to comments on your video - thanks for some ideas for my GX 470. I have the same Phoenix radio but didn't know I could modify its display liker you did - how did you learn to do that? (non instructions come with it and the manufacturer website it useless). Thanks
Nice job. Can you explain where did you tab into the body for the ground. I would like to tab locally to rear end for a ground. Can you show exactly where. I am temped to sand a body section to expose metal and tap a 10 mm hole for the ground. Not something I want to do because there are many location that I can tap into.
Going on 5 years with my Alpicool C15 and it has been great. Quiet, cold, low power draw and surprisingly cheap to buy. I have since researched ICECO and agree they are a better fridge at a great price point but considerably more than Alpi. The biggest selling point for the ICECO for me is the incredibly low power draw but with just one battery and a small solar panel my Alpicool doesn't draw down the battery if I just pay attention to voltage and adjust the solar panel. Thumbs up for Alpicool.
5:20 glad I can hear you scratching your arm over an obnoxious drone. I think this is the set up I want. A little flare when you get on it, but it's very livable.
I been through a lot of 12 volt refrigerator. And figure it out. If your late 80s and above area, your going to over work the compressor as it on every 4 minutes and the humid day the one that kill it as it can't get rid of the heat. A trick here is put a bag ice and run it at 28-30 you get 1-2 life at best most. Even the englel run every 4 min. All with ice run about 1 every 15 minutes. I spent 11 hundred and got the 55 dometic. Now I understand. It's the incloser . It has a rubber synthetic foam and press down lock sealer so it keep it cold as good my 60 q yenti cooler. And don't even have to go as high as 28-30 to get the max time of 4 min. Iv got it at 40 that very cold ice water and the compressor don't turn on for about 20 minutes about 45 m at night. My battery stay at 12.7 morning. It's a verable speed compressor and it Swiss made that why. Has a 5 yr warrante so I can see this one last many yr as in barely on in 89-92 Honolulu weather. That my take.
Thanks for sharing. I have a large propain bottle With Regulator on Tank. I use it for a protable water heater. Question: have you / know you if its posible to eliminate supplied stove reg and run line directly to stove from large bottle with reg on bottle. Cuz 2 regs on same line Doesnt work, decreases line pressure to much.
Love mine. Do you still have the air shocks? Mine were just replaced before I bought it but I actually like them. I’m thinking I might keep replacing them in future. 🤷♀️ any suggestions?
I have an android phone, wife has an iphone. Whenever she connects hers to bluetooth, the next time I drive it music wont play from my phone even though its connected. Any idea why?
I'm a little late to the party, I absolutely love your GX and it looked like it was pieced together with a lot of heart. I'm binge watching your videos and well, much like others, I too really appreciate them. God bless you and your family. I hope all is well!
Why do people like you keep shilling for Iceco and falsely claiming that they are "affordable"? They are exactly the same price as ARB, Dometic, engles, etc. They are all between $1500-$2000 (Canadian) Vs the Alpicool/bougerv/etc ones which are all $400-$800. Sure, there may be benefit to going with one of the expensive ones vs the cheap ones (though I have trouble imagining a $700 benefit!), but to claim Iceco is "affordable" in comparison to the others is a flat out lie.
Dometic, Engle are more expensive. Also depends on what you are looking for. Compare the warranty ICECO gives on the compressor compared to Alpicool, Costway and the others.
@@glenn5876 No, Dometic and Engle are the same price as Iceco. NONE of them qualify as "affordable", that's a complete lie. Sure, they may have benefits, and it may be worth spending more, ($700 more?) but stop lying and saying they're "affordable" in comparison to others, they simply aren't. They are the exact same price as all the most expensive ones.
@@Green__one As I said, it all depends on what you are looking for. Dual zones are more expensive than plain fridge units. ICECO 75L $999, Dometic 75L $1399.99 and Engel 60QT $1659.99. Right now, ICECO 45L fridge with wheels less than $350.00. Dometic 46L $1099.99 and Engel 43QT $1199.99. So, affordability is to the individual. ICECO gives a 5 year warranty on their compressor. Compare the others.
@@glenn5876 You're hillarious! Iceco doesn't make fridges in the sub $500 range. so stop lying about the $350. The cheapest iceco unit I can find right now is $600, and is only 20L. I *AM* comparing to others. Iceco is an expensive brand, same prices as ARB, Dometic, Engel. If you're talking "affordable" look at Alpicool, Vevor, BougeRV, etc. You can argue that Iceco is *BETTER* than the cheap fridges, and you may be right, but it's hard to imagine they are actually worth 3 times the price! but you can't say they *ARE* a cheap fridge, doing so is just flat out lying.
@@GXOverland They must have revisited the design, because my tailpipe hanger ended up in the stock position. Thanks for replying. Sorry I didn't update this earlier.
