Hi fellow aussie! 🇦🇺 Can your next video be about how to start learning figure skating at your nearest rink in australia? like what and how do i sign up? - a coach? class? group? what do we learn and what’s the order of the curriculum or is there tests we have to pass? how do we get boots? and how to know which type of edea boot and blade? what to wear? what other equipment? how to get a program? how and when to start competing? just all the what, who, how? questions! because most of us don’t know how to start and what the process is like! thanks again ⛸️
hi i can also try to answer a few skating questions since i do figure skating as well. to sign up you should just be able to look up the name of the ice arena near you on google, and go onto the website and look around until you find something about lessons. i recommend group lessons to start with or a 'learn to skate' since they are usually cheaper than private lessons and its better to learn the basics in the group lessons. when you start out you will usually begin to learn footwork, like 1 foot glides, slaloms, backwards skating, crossovers and bunny hops, as you progress the footwork gets more complicated and you start working on waltz jumps and 2 foot spins. for boots and blades, you could use the rental skates provided(hopefully) at your local rink, and use them for a while(make sure they have a good toe-pick and aren't plastic or have dull blades). when you do buy skates there are alot more brands than edea skates risport and jackson. edea usually has very narrow toe area, jacksons are wider, and risports are just risports. for your first pair of skates i highly reccomend looking everywhere for second hand skates in your size that are in good shape. you usually buy blades seprately when buying edeas , i reccomend buying cross-cut toepick blades, and finding ones that suit you. some equiptment would be gloves, lots of layering tight clothes, possibly a lace tightener, soakers, and guards. this took AGES to write 😍

I use ballet socks!! Most skaters use thinner socks that are closer to tights than socks - so ballet tights/socks work well!! Try Bloch or even Edea skating socks are great!🥰
Good luck in the comp! I’m sure you’ll do great (much better than I would anyways 😂), even if you do have to compete on a Wednesday at 9 p.m (I would not have made it to work the next day) 💀❤️
No way!! I know this is late but I go this same ice rink as you! (I know it’s like one of the only ones) but I find it funny that we’re both in the same place! The swan trophy tournament is tomorrow actually lol
That’s interesting that your heel rubs and creates a hole.. if it doesn’t bother you, then it’s obviously fine, but maybe consider a different width ? 🤔 try on the pianos in width B, and if you feel like it’s not too tight on the front of your foot - you could consider it and then maybe the holes won’t reappear, just an idea 🤷♀️❤️
I think the hole was actually because there’s was slightly too much room around my heel so it was moving in my boot and rubbing - but the first few weeks in my concertos so far and I have a feeling I won’t have this issue with them luckily!! I dunno boots are weird, who knows😆🥲 Thank you for the suggestion though that’s a good idea!!🫶🏼
