I like how you layered the voices over each other at points to add to the illusion of an argument with people talking over each other. Not many of these ai channels do that.
I absolutely get what you're saying with the bonus stuff, but I think it's more of a fault with the quality of the Chocolate & Cheese era rares than with the band's selection. Most of the really good Chocolate & Cheese demo stuff was remade and put on other albums, like Buckingham Green. With something like Caesar, the songs themselves are amazing, but I think C&C have the weakest rarities of their albums, even with La Cuc.
Whats up trevor! Great news indeed. I got a question for ya, how long does it usually take you to figure out a song by ear? i started playing guitar about a year ago but I absolutely suck at learning songs without youtube. Any tips?
It depends on the song, but in the case of Ween it can sometimes go pretty quickly since many of their songs are not too complicated much of the time in terms of guitar parts. I typically consult live footage to inspect the guitar fingerings and whatnot, but if there isn’t any, then I do what I always do and give the songs a thorough listening with headphones, slowing them down at certain points. This is especially helpful with solos and more complex chords. I also like to think that my ear has developed enough to help out with simpler songs. For example, I can tell from first listen that Kim Smoltz uses the same G, F, C cycle for the whole song (half step down in the case of the recording).
Great vid Trevor. I've always liked Junkie Boy but was very surprised to see it included. I've always loved Gener doing his arch British prog rock voice. Not that keen on Dirty Money or Smooth Mover. Also these three tracks don't really sound much like anything on Chocolate and Cheese so I'm wondering how this extra disc will vibe with the main act we all know so well. Either way, it's always good to have an official Ween release with unheard compositions albeit from the past. It has been a while!
