This episode honestly reminds me of the diehard episode from Rick and Morty. Both of them are bad episodes(at least to me they are), but most importantly they both take an episodic gag and run it into the ground to the point where all its comedic value is gone. The only difference is that the “my leg” gag was a long time good gag that got ruined, while the diehard gag was unique to that episode but it was never a good one(again, that’s just what I think).
Teeny tiniest nitpick about bubble bass he technically didn’t order anything off menu the main rub is him ordering specific instructions for the menu, I.e. off the top of my head “on a raft” subs burger buns with toast. Every once in a while I’ll google what his order actually means and it’s an interesting look at what I assume are old school restaurant jargon
The animation is so bizarre for someone that only saw the first 3(?) seasons of spongebob. also Karen got a body? twice??? and bubble bass is here still??? 😅 This is wild
the whole massage of The Spongebob Squarepants Movie and many of the episodes is that it's okay to be a kid, also let other people watch what they like and don't let them watch idk family guy, bojack horseman, big mouth, just to fit in the reality adult life,
constant stretching proportions, constant sounds, non-stop movement, ugh ... And whats up with them doing this weird bug-eyed, eyes in slightly different direction stare??
As someone who watched all the Nosferatu stuff there is because of this old episode, seeing him getting milked for SpongeBob makes me want to scoop my eyes out
what adds to that "stuck in time" feeling for me is the fact that they used the old tactic of drawing a background and only redrawing the parts of it that move, like the dbz "you can always tell which rock will be destroyed next" meme. it feels like nothing in those images could move, whereas modern spongebob feels like everything could move at once
I have always been a defender of Seasons 4-8 of SpongeBob and the utter un-SpongeBob garbage that has been the last few season has left me so vindicated Say what you will about say Season 6 but it got the timing, the vibes, the animation, the humor style of SpongeBob right
i’m unreasonably high, and for some reason the scene where Mr. Krabs takes the customer’s drink and lets the soda machine suck it back up absolutely sent me. Spongebob truly defies all logic
