I'm J, an ordinary guy just trying to help show other people that home built projects are achievable in your own garage with some basic knowledge and tools. Please ask anything that comes to mind!
@BlindDrifter your talking about the stock cressida crossmember right.? Did you flip it or anything. I've read you gotta flip it. My 1j is pushed nearly all the way back. Getting the last parts I need to finally r154 swap my cressi.
@BlindDrifter ok thanks man appreciate the help. Your cressida is fast after ! I'm just a stock 1j boi. Lol just has Tomei turbo and future fab down pipe. Need to start putting lil more power but once I get more good at getting sideways.🤙🏽
@brokengaming4906 Mine broke, but from installer error. They did not loctite the bolts holding the shift forks and one backed out, ruined the transmission.
Thanks for this video. I just installed a $100 used set of VQ37 coilpacks on my 2JZ-GE (running good so far). I used Subaru BRZ/FRS boots, which match the height for the -GE's valley bracket. Then you just need to drill some holes in the bracket for M6 bolts and spacers to mount them properly.
This is happening to my aem v2. It keeps showing 5.88 and will not zero out. And will only advance to 6.04 when I’m asking a target of 10. My solenoid moves out of the car by hooking up a 12v source to it. I believe it’s an intermittent issue. Was the solenoid itself bad for you or just changing the settings fix it completely?
Are there any options for a Honda k20 or K24 engine swaps with automatic transmissions? Any of these options with an AWD gearbox function? I'm amazed at how much power is capable with such a small displacement engine.
So, I got to rebuild the very same TKO dogbox I drove about two years ago. It shifted fine, but was leaking and wasn't properly dial indicated to the back of the engine, so the input shaft bearing had to be replaced. -- When you're idling in neutral without using the clutch, the engine is rotating the lower counter shaft and all of the gears are spinning. The output shaft is stopped. At a 900 RPM idle with 6-finger plates, you have 5400 chances every second to execute a shift. -- When you engage first gear, the counter shaft immediately stops. -- When you're rolling, the countershaft is immediately slowed to the new upshift speed. -- Downshifting is similar, but has some implications. 5th has a little gear turning a big gear. So, when you need to go from 5th to 2nd like when you slow down for a slow hairpin, the countershaft has to go from 1800 RPM to 4000 RPM and the clutch friction disc has to accelerate as well. When you double your speed, you quadruple the energy expended, so this hits 20 times harder in the opposite direction as a from-stop shift, with a loud BANG! -- So when you downshift, it's more ideal to over-shoot the rev match and have the lightest clutch disc you can find. You do this by applying the clutch enough to come out of gear, possibly releasing the clutch, revving the engine, properly using the clutch, and performing the shift. The lighter your flywheel is, the better this will work.
Dog box is for not using clutch, especially when accelerating… if you ever ride a motorcycle and perfect not using clutch to shift you’ll get it down good, because most bike are dog boxes.
Ive been doing some research and on dog box's you shouldn't use the clutch to down shift, you should rev and down shift at the same time as quickly as pos
Hey man I’m having issues with starting up my 1jz e46 wagon. I have 12v to coil packs I believe 0v to injectors And 0.9 v to c1-63 and 0v to c1-68. I’m not the wiring guy tbh I’m kinda a noob. Would you be able to Guide me or tell me how exactly you ran your two 12v wires to c1-63 and 68
