This is great fragrance. I can still smell beautiful base on my skin after 5 days and 5 showers!!! This is unbelivible. I'm not rose fun also, but it isn't very noticable in this perfume. It's well blended, sexy and addictive. All year round scent, I think, but maybe best in spring and fall? My next wish is Mancera Choco violet, I think it's sexy and feminime too, and great for winter.
It’s an underrated gem for sure!! Oh I haven’t tried Choco Violet, I need to sample that one! Thank you for sharing and thank you so much for watching and taking time to comment! 🥰
I remember the first time I had purchased Cafe Du Monde coffee - it was very early in my coffee experience, and I bought it shortly after our first visit to the actual Cafe in New Orleans. It was so intense (I suppose because of the chicory?), and I made it with far less milk than the way they serve it at Cafe Du Monde. I thought it had gone rancid or something, so I threw out the whole can of coffee! 😂 My coffee tastes have matured since, and I now always keep a can of Cafe Du Monde - one of my favorites! Thank you for the great video! These fragrances all sound delectable! 🩷
That’s so funny! I completely understand, and I can see how it would be off putting at first. If I tried it earlier I probably would have done the same thing. It is an acquired taste I think. I love that you took time to comment and share your feedback with me! Thank you so much for watching!! 😍
Hey, sweetie. I have had the Mauboussin on my wishlist for a few months now. I don't know that I'm a huge Belle fan but it's nice. I think I'm going to try the Mauboussin. It sounds rounder and deeper than the original. I'll let you know what I think.❤
They have some decent ok offerings, he is a young perfumer and needs to learn and develop more, and understand how to make simpler fragrances but pay more attention to the notes. His barbershop fragrance was the worst thing I have smelt in 6 years. Choco oud is decent, too sweet but not bad.
So many summer gems I’m enjoying, including Bal d’Afrique, Andrea Maack Ceramic, Delina La Rosee, Coastal Carolina Parfums Southern Peach Tea, and Memo Paris Eau de Memo!
These are solid choices, thank you for sharing!! I actually have been scoping out Coastal Carolina and I want to try Southern Peach Tea as well as their Vanilla fragrance. I also love Delina La Rose, it’s so pretty.
Black woman here, appreciating your series. Neither one of these really sounded like me. I am learning not to just blind buy out of emotion .But I did go to the page via your link looking for samples and found a wonderful, informative blog. It seems like she is also looking into a third scent which may be up my alley. Thank you!
Amber! Gurl! I am new to the fragrance world. Got into it as a distraction from a breakup late last year. I started binge watching you tube and blind buying. Luckily I found recs for middle eastern fragrances early on ( price point) .I blind bought Ishq Al Shuyukh . It smelled like tires and I did as instructed. Sprayed out a little and put it way. I truly thought I would have to give it away like a few others. Fast forward 6 months . I blind bought TF Metallique as well and fell in love. Sadly I know it has been discontinued ( rumor?) . I bought a full sized bottle and have been nursing it. Your video made me take the bottle out and do a little happy dance. Ssooo close! TF is slightly sweeter . Barely noticeable. Thank you new best friend 😄
This comment has made my DAY. I love hearing about your scent journey. And I am also glad that you smelled the similarities as well. Everyone smells things a little different but that’s what makes scent so exciting. What other fragrances are you loving right now!?
@@ambstuart I have come to my senses and started to pay more attention to notes instead of hype. I have found I am an all things vanilla girl. Rose and the “woods” are notes I love as well. . I am also into niche, unique scents. I LOVE O’feminin? ( I forget the name at the moment) and can only afford decants right now , but I will get a full bottle soon. It is the most devine, feminine vanilla. I am also a fan of Queening by Mind games. I have a great many middle eastern ones, but I find they don’t last on my skin. Learning to layer. I am also excited about going to Iceland in October. I have heard of a couple houses that are based there and hope to sample them in stores. Oh! And I plan to explore two of the black owned brands you suggested. I have only heard of one other one. Again I appreciate your channel so much.
@@FatimaGerman-g2r YES 100% pay attention to notes that you know you enjoy, and branch out from there. Hype is not always helpful. And I have also learned which fragrance reviewers smell things similar to me, which ones don't. I have tried SO MANY fragrances based off of hype and was often disappointed. But that's ok because we all smell things different. So I am glad that this channel has helped you!! I am so honored to have you!
Thanks for your comment! I NEEED to try Rose by Many Names. I recently started loving rose. Cola Oud sounds really interesting too!! I appreciate you watching 🙏
@@ambstuart Ofc, I love your videos, they are very entertaining. Rose is a very beautiful note and I also like rose poetique by manos gerakins if you’ve ever tried that.
I don't know how I haven't seen this comment sooner!! I apologize! Thank you so so so much for your comment and for watching my video! It really is a note that has stood the test of time, but it can be interpreted hundreds of different ways. I have not tried Rose Poetique, but I certainly will. Thank you for the recommendation!
I don't understand why you made this video? With all do respect to you, so what, if Middle Eastern fragrances don't work for you? I find that Western fragrances don't work for me also, but I don't go make a video and complain about it to perhaps hundreds or thousands of people in which some of them it will work for them. I wish we wouldn't knock down things simply because we don't like it. I have discovered that no matter how great a fragrance is that you really like and positively think of, there will be people still who will not like it and think the fragrance is bad. People smells things differently than the way we do because people are different, this is one reason why in my opinion there are so many different kinds of fragrances that is out there. I really like Polo Blue by Ralph Lauren, but I know people who hates it and it doesn't work for them, they say it to me. I say choose for yourself what's best for you, what you really like and enjoy, and what will work for you. I wear fragrances that pleases me, I don't wear it to try to please other people because no matter what fragrance you wear, someone is still not going to like it on you. Whatever Middle Eastern fragrances that don't work for you could work very well for other people. I personally loves Middle Eastern fragrances and I think they are longer lasting, better and stronger than some fragrances in the Western world that's way overpriced and where there are so much concern about fakes/counterfeit fragrances. The Middle Eastern fragrances some of them might be a clone, but real. I will take a cloned fragrance anytime over a fake/a counterfeit. Everybody is doing their best to please the public in making these fragrance.
You are so right. And I appreciate your honesty in sharing your opinion. You’re right, this video is simply just my own opinion, and nothing more. I also have a video on popular fragrances (Western) that I didn’t care for. I don’t mean to discriminate against only Middle Eastern fragrances if that’s how it came across. I have just as many designer, niche, and Western fragrances that didn’t work for me. I just personally think that some people find it interesting (including me), to know that reviewers are willing to share their likes as well as their dislikes. I completely understand if this video was not your favorite. And if it was offensive, I do apologize. That’s never my goal. Thank you again for taking time to share your feedback with me. It’s welcome here.
@@ambstuart 👍💯😊 You are a very honest person. I wasn't offended by your honest video, your video might have helped a lotta people to move on and discover the fragrances that will work for them as you say. Choosing the right fragrances can be complicated for some people. I say it's good even if 60% of the people that you come across while wearing a fragrance like it on you, never mind the other 40% who don't like it. I have yet to find a 100% likeable fragrance by everyone. Most of us will choose a good fragrance anyway.
@ambstuart I tried a few on your list. But wasn't impressed with them. I just don't like Parfums de Marly. I get so bored smelling them. To simple and boring
That’s fair! I think a few years ago PDM was the perfect gateway brand to niche fragrances. I don’t feel that way anymore. I cannot say I love the newer ones they are releasing. From Kalan and forward I haven’t enjoyed them. But prior to that they were more thoughtful. What’s your Spring lineup look like?
I’m so glad you love it! The original started to make me sneeze, so I want to try the dupe called Forbidden Sugar and see if that makes me react as well. It’s a shame because there really is nothing like it
Thank you for the positive feedback! I agree. It was a big deal when it first came out, but I think it is easily the most popular or at least in the top three from the house. I would say for good reason.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I appreciate your comment. I think that you are right, we have to change it up from time to time. Thank you for being here!
Just received my Burberry Her Intense samples from you haha! The way you spoke about Joorie reminds me of my favorite rose honey fragrance, Lancôme Hypnôse Senses. Absolutely one of the best blended honey rose perfumes 🥰
Can’t wait to hear about it! Where are those more affordable fragrances, high-end, or just all over the board? Also, what were some of your favorite discoveries?
@@ambstuart The Dubai mall had every high-end brand you can think of. But I gravitated toward the local brands such as Hind Al Oud and a few others. They had amazing fragrances from 50 dollars US up to 4000k US. I’ve been slacking on the videos but with almost 3 weeks in Dubai I’m just trying to get my sleep patterns back.
That’s very kind, thank you! I’m so glad you enjoyed it. If you do end up purchasing the fragrance, I would certainly love to know what you think about it!
I agree with you that black sugar is more fresh than gourmand! It’s still a very pretty scent for me. I really loved morning mimosa and found it to be very strong and reminiscent of coco mademoiselle
