Can't believe the state of the track then, looking back, dirt just tipped straight out of the tipper and left there. All gone now and only high end housing left, actually looks nice place to live now😃
These guys could ride! Look at these bikes squirming so much...what a handful! 100% credit to the riders. Now, todays racing...as a biker, watching the Isle of Man TT leaves me in awe every time I watch those guys! Nuts!
Being a long time Katana owner ,I found it amazing that such an outdated bike managed third. My heart swelled with pride and I realised Heyes and Holden were both superstars. VF 750's were the next level then.
Mal Pitman tracked that bike down and is restoring it. May have been finished by now. It was mostly still complete and had sat around a lot in a shed, even had Dellorto carbs like car Webers. Not in the 800 though.
Super unsafe & completely dumb a Actual human out almost on the racing line standing there simply to tell them what they already know it's wet ,How much more dumb can they get you wouldn't believe how fast this ginny pig would loose its life over such a dumb move & definitely don't see this dumbness today or since.
Killed by nostalgia. I spent countless weekends at Oran Park as a teenager. Never heard anything as terrifying as the sound of these bikes at the end of the straight. Think I was 12 years old the first time.
I remember the 750 two strokes here. Hansford got killed in a car. Mum's friend told her her son's were OK when they rode bikes but didn't have cars. Video clarity is absolute garbage.
I was hiring GS 1000 Suzukis from Action Suzuki North Sydney in the 1979 period . Greg McShane took the saddle one day with me on the back . From the Crossroads just outta Sydney , to Western Creek Canberra , we arrived , a fair bit under two hours .
@@clayauslewis4236 ' Aloha Steve and Danno '. A Tribute song to Hawaii Five O, by great under appreciated Aussie band RADIO BIRDMAN, circa 1979. As Molly used to say; " do yerself a favour and listen to this". Ten outta ten.
