@@jakemitchell9688 Yeessir! 💯 Those three things can definitely make life harder. Taking care of your finances, being responsible with family planning, and staying out of trouble are all key to staying on the right path. It's important to think long-term and make decisions that set you up for success.

Brother D has been a real blessing in my life when i was wavering in my relationship with God. As men we need other men in christ to talk to and this dude doesn't hesitate to give me his time and the word of God. He is a living testimony I see him almost everyday and the man you see in the video is the man that i see before me. I hope this reaches many lives 🙏
My precious brother in Christ brother D, I never knew you back in those incarcerated years. But in the years I have known you, D you have been a true blessing & dear friend. In your corner till we're home 🫂
@@believejesus3811 My story is similar to yours-I didn't know him when he was in the streets. However, I'm very grateful that God saw fit to spare his life and allow him to continue making positive changes in our community, “one conversation at a time.”
I can vouch for my brother Ric Raw, been through all different walks of life with this brother from the service, to the trenches, and the concrete jungle. Proud to see him climb to higher elevation! Keep pushing fam💯💪🏾
God is good, and He is clearly using Ric as a vessel to deliver His message! Thanks for your comment. Please subscribe to the page for more content from others who share similar perspectives. That was deep how you broke that down on "word" and "world". So true my brother! Which one are we going to follow? God bless you brothers. Peace/love/respect✌🏾❤🫱🏽🫲🏾
This was a refreshing conversation. I might be biased because this my fam, but listening to my cuz story and giving real applicable advice you young people is something we need more of. Seems like there isn't enough light shined on the other side of the street life. So much that many dont see a way out. Keep moving the needle forward brothas.
Of course mentorship and fellowship matters. Children need positive reinforcement and encouragement. Sometimes people need to hear, “I believe in you.”.
This was ok. Very boring. You might wanna spice it up. Get in the streets . Talk to him in his community. You have to have some entertainment fellas!! Did I mention this was boring!
I disagree, I think was great and real. I see GOD working through these brothers attempting to make an impact. I think the more the work is done, things will flourish, and your feedback can be used as these brothers continue to grow. Peace/love/respect✌🏾❤🫱🏽🫲🏾
I disagree with you on the boring part. I think it was real and needed for what these brothers are attempting to accomplish. I see God working with these two young brothers, and hopefully the more that this platform grows, your feedback will be considered and granted.
Thank you for your feedback. While the story may not have resonated with you, if it touched even one person, it was worth sharing. Ric has an incredible story and family. I truly admire and love this brother, as it’s incredibly difficult to speak out and be vulnerable in this space. The barbershop is a vital part of the African American community, serving as a place of refuge, therapy, and mentorship. You offered great ideas as well, thank you! Stay tuned! #letstalkshopkcpodcast
Boring?!!!! Boring How Cuz? What kind of entertainment you looking for? This was very inspiring homie. You looking for the total opposite, this ain't for you cuz!!!!
@@unknownunknown9296 Yeah I’m not your cuz. I’m not a gang member that went to jail because I was too dumb to learn how to read or speak to people. It’s not just me that thinks it’s boring. Yeah you need to get a grip and grow up !

What an excellent interview. I have a husband that is incarcerated currently in state prison and he has a few years left until he comes home. We got married while he has been serving his sentence, it's very hard to endure the life of having a loved one that's incarcerated. I agree that there is no rehabilitation for incarcerated individuals. There are programs that are offered to "help" but the real work starts when they come home, if they are even able to come home. Time is such a terrible thing to waste, especially in such a place like prison. There are so many intelligent, and talented people that are behind those walls. Prison saves a lot of troubled souls, but it can also make coming back much easier, and make things harder for them when they come home. Due to issues with parole, half way houses, trying to find a job to support themselves and find a place to stay. It's possible, but they have to want to change and be away from people, places and things that can be triggering to them. Having a support system with positive people is key to a positive transition. It sometimes isn't easy, but there have been many successful and inspiring stories from people that have served time. I throughly enjoyed watching this. Best of luck to this man and changing his life.💪🏽
Hi Natasha, In our latest podcast episode, we discussed the critical importance of supporting individuals who have been incarcerated once they return home. A strong support system is essential for their successful reintegration into society. This support not only helps them rebuild their lives but also strengthens the social fabric of our communities. Offering guidance, resources, and understanding can help formerly incarcerated individuals overcome the challenges they face and significantly reduce the likelihood of recidivism. We're passionate about this topic and committed to raising awareness and promoting these vital efforts. Tune in to hear more about how we can all contribute to this important cause. #letstalkshopkcpodcast New episodes drop every Friday!
Thanks bruh, many of us have fallen victim to this! As I’ve heard before, “there’s only two types of people in this world, the caught, and the uncaught!” All we can do is share knowledge and hope it sticks…
Twin, I really appreciate that! Sorry for the delayed response-I’m still getting the hang of RU-vid! I’d love your help in spreading the word about the podcast. Also, if you know anyone interested in podcasting in any format, please let them know we’re recruiting help as the podcast is really taking off! Thanks for your support!
I appreciate your feedback! The "Man in the Mirror" segment was spontaneous, guided by the Holy Spirit in the moment. I strive to stay attuned to the Spirit's guidance, as God sent Him to be our helper. It's been an incredible journey thus far! God is good! 🙌🏾
