We are a co-curricular department of Virginia Military Institute whose mission is to integrate leadership and ethical development programs into cadet experiences as well as provide professional development opportunities to our faculty, staff and administration. VMI established this Center to tackle complex issues of national urgency. The Center does this through conferences and symposia, cadet experience programming, inviting distinguished speakers to interact with the VMI community, conduct and support ethics competitions, leadership opportunities and staff rides. This channel houses videos featuring our guest speakers, leaders in residence, conferences and other VMI-related activities which we sponsor or organize. To learn more about our Center, please visit our website at www.vmi.edu/cle.

In case the major lesson is ignored in this video....there would have been NO American POWs if Americans didn't go to Vietnam where they didn't belong and have a right to be. They were essentially invaders and oppressors in someone else's country that did nothing to the US or Americans. Vietnam had NO effect on American safety, security, freedom and way of life....win or lose. It was America's suffering to own b/c we were where we didn't belong.

James Webb is someone who has my respect and admiration. I first heard of him from an old Marine I met in Grayville Illinois about 50 years ago or more that had lost his arm while serving in Webb's infantry platoon in Vietnam, old "Mac" spoke very highly of Webb so I kept an eye on Webb over the years and when he ran for the Democrat Party nomination for president in 2016 I hoped he would get it. The only thing I cannot understand about James Webb is I cannot understand how he can be a Democrat and an Anti-Communist at the same time since so many Democrats today are thinly disguised members of the Communist Party.

Tet did not win the war for the NLF, true, but it sure shocked the United States and alerted them to the fact that the war would not be a quick one. U.S. public support of continuing on dwindled pretty rapidly. Ho Chi Minh said it may well take ten years, twenty or more to win. The National Liberation Front never faltered against steep odds.

This great interview needs to be updated to see how AI is being used to create “fake news” and build “grass roots” movements. Imagin how a few thousand AI entities could influence our social discourse?

All these posts about Vietnam are basically BS. These veterans such as Kushner ( minus most draftees ) willingly chose to go to an unwinnable, illegal war. If they say otherwise they are promoting a falsehood. A lot of these people push the image that they could or did win the war, but the "politicians" and the "people back home" lost it. Vietnam was a national American disgrace, tragedy and defeat...and they share in the responsibility of it. The politicians and American people saw that the war was not being won, or was unwinnable. The US never really had the "hearts and minds" of the South Vietnamese people...who they supposedly were fighting for. They don't talk much about the war crimes they committed against the Vietnamese....OR even against their own personnel. Lastly, whether these guys won or lost...the Vietnam war had absolutely NO effect on American freedom, security, safety or way of life. They did NOT sacrifice anything for my...or your freedom. These veterans present themselves as victims and wrongly treated. They are big boys and went to a country to kill or be killed. They shared in the failure. Now they want to be recognized for their "sacrifice" through videos, Honor Flights, endless trips to the Wall in DC or to Vietnam itself. They never grew up and really moved on. They have made themselves an embarrassment to themselves and my generation.

Fake news was coined in the truth movement many years ago. Post 9/11. It was taken up by the mainstream media like this lady says, around the Obama speach to counter this movement. Donald Trump then flipped it back.

Nancy's Wrap up Smear MSM tried to cover it insisting it was taken out of context. Of course, nothing Trump said was EVER taken out of context. Dems have a rulebook unto themselves that everyone else must subscribe to. m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-SMJdDwQlcc8.html

Another thing to note: South Vietnamese military....are educated in that they won't shoot their Northern brothers if they don't have to and also because they do in fact know that Northern soldiers' families live in terrible conditions in the North...which is why they've never rlly launched any offensive attacks into the North throughout the whole war. Northern Vietnamese military/Viet Cong on the other hand, will shoot their Southern brothers ...all for the sake of the Party, bc they are brainwashed to believe that the Party is tied to the fate of the country.
@jjq9360
@jjq9360 3 года назад
Van Tien Dung, North Vietnamese General violated the Paris Peace Accords of 1973 by continuing to deploy more troops into the South and commit human rights violations all down south even though all American combat troops have already pulled out of South Vietnam in 1972 to leave the fighting for the ARVN. And through secret negotiations between Kissinger and Le Duc Tho (VC revolutionary), for some reason also caused US Congress to also decide to cut economic aid to South Vietnam even though North Vietnam continued to receive aid from China and the Soviet Union. South Vietnam's government isn't perfect but it has a good chance of reunifying the country just like how West Germany reunified East Germany under democracy, only if South Vietnam was supplied with military aid (ammunition) from US and its allies. Pretty unfair for South Vietnam's fate and its people....04/30/75 didn't have to happen the way it did... And there are North Vietnamese soldiers (not Viet Cong), upon entering Saigon, seeing how prosperous the city was compared to Hanoi and seeing there were no American troops, realized they've been lied to by their government...
