On my channel I post things that I do at work and also things I do for hobbies my hobbies are aluminum casting wood carving and metalworking. The things I do at work or alarm systems fire alarm systems Access Control camera systems and a lot of other low voltage. Android troubleshooting more than installation as you will see in my videos of fire alarm
One year, two hundred views, only my comment. Ham is dead, don't believe me turn on on. Old fuds do nothing but run the younger generation off, and you know what? That's exactly what they want. US boomers(especially ones that never served, constantly blamed their children for everything) are the epitome of old fud ham, and thus, digital modes can't even save it for the younger generation.
Hey, I'm trying to get some help with an Altronix eFlow 1012NB power supply. I have noticed that the batteries of the access control system are outdated and must be replaced, they don't retain enough energy. Due to the battery's condition, I know that this kind of power supply has a low-power shutdown function integrated. It shuts down DC output terminals if battery voltage drops down 80% of nominal to prevent deep battery discharge. The issue is, at some point, we could be having voltage variations in the building, or, the power supply detects the voltage drop and cuts down DC outputs because of the voltage variations of the building or because of a power shutdown (that has not been reported). After this, the access control system goes off. To re-establish the system, we need to go back to reset the circuit breaker manually. After this, everything comes back to normal. But my question is, do I have to do this every time the system goes out, resetting the eFlow power supply manually? If power comes back, should the power supply work normally without our intervention? I will be changing the batteries soon. To test and kinda solve the issue, I changed that eFlow power supply for an AL1012ULXB, and for some reason, for 7 days we have had no problems (still with the outdated batteries connected).
Good morning, Not sure if you still use this account but our magnetic doors quit working 5 years ago after a fire alarm drill. Fire marshal thinks it may be the relay. SIGA-CR Edwards systems Remote transponder indoor dry. Looking at our current relay, the Red LED (active) light does not blink but the Green LED light does. Not sure if that's helpful but I have no idea why the magnetic doors are not working. I live in remote Alaska and it is hard to have someone sent to our village. Could it be the relay? Or is there something in the fire panel we need to look through to "activate" the magnetic doors? I could really use some help. Thanks
I’ve got a weird situation. There’s no fire alarm connected, just alarm system. I’ve got my white and blue connected to the D Mark coming in, then my orange and white wires feeding all the the phones connected to line 1. When I disconnect the return from the alarm panel, all the phones say check phone line. But then when we call in to try and upload the panel, all the phones all of a sudden say incoming phone call. That should not happen with the return line disconnected, and the phones previously showing check phone line. Where my return line is connected, it’s on a gray punch block that feeds multiple phones without using loops. Also next too the line1, it shows line two. The panel is on line one, but I have a feeling that it’s jumping over to line two
I have a question for you. Is it okay to mount vibrating horns and bells on the same wall area or demo board as a fire alarm control panel? I've seen other people do that and I am doing that as well. Will the vibration from mechanical horns or bells damage the panel or any other electronic devices on the system? Because I've heard that vibration is bad for electronics and fire alarm control panels. Thanks for your help!
@@khawk7365 EST-3 FACP. I looked it up and apparently Edwards has a programming tool for devices but was wondering if it was possible to program devices from the FACP without a pc or programmer. Also is there a forum for the fire alarm trade? I started working as a fire alarm tech with no experience in any trades and mostly work with Hochiki but also work on Simplex and occasionly EST and Notifier.
I have a silent knight 6700 that says internal SLC short when set to SK protocol but when set to SD protocol it goes all normal and works fine, would you be able to fix that?
cool, my school has a faraday firewatch xvi in the tech building, and an old edwards system with a 2280 panel in the main building, originally had an older edwards system, and was replaced with the current one sometime in the 90s
