I’m really enjoying your series on modding the 3 Turbo, as it is closely related enough to my CX-50 Turbo, so I can learn much from your content. How many tuning revisions did you do when you were dialing in your tune? My mods & plans/thoughts: I have had the SRI& TIP installed for over a year now. I have been sitting on the V1 downpipe for almost a year; I haven’t put it on yet because people found out it caused a CEL (contrary to Corksport’s claim). Corksport offered a $200 rebate and the opportunity to either keep the V1 or swap it for the V2 when it’s released. I opted to swap for the V2 since I’d probably get a CEL & there aren’t any tunes available for the CX-50 yet (but hopefully there will be from DRTuned by the end of this year). Now, I’m just waiting on the Corksport axle-back exhaust to arrive at my door in a few more days. I don’t want my car to be too loud because I don’t want to bother people and I don’t want exhaust drone; I only want to increase the sound just a liiiittle bit and relieve just a bit of back pressure. Who knows if I’ll replace the midpipe at any point. I can’t wait until Corksport releases their drop-in turbochargers for these cars! Would you ever consider doing that sort of upgrade?
i was just showing the blue brush that i use on the tires. I always put it in the clear water bucket. None of the wheel/tire bushes were put on the rock after or before rinsing with the clear bush or hose. I get what you are saying and thinks for helping me to remember.
Roadster Sport header, Roadster Sport mid pipe with large cat, Greddy axle back. All my parts are in the video description if you want to know about anything else.
That's a hard question to answer. Mustangs were my first car love. I have had 3 Mustangs over the years. Both cars are very different. I like both cars equally in different ways. Having both means I have that best of both worlds. Nice lightweight convertible that's handles like it's on rails (Miata). Big bad a$$ American muscle that's fast, loud, and rides like I'm on a cloud of air (literally), lol.
I have a 22 Mach 1 but just drove a miata rf and it was a blast like a toy car/ go cart. Want one but I think people would think I'm nuts for selling a newer mach for a miata 😂😂
I understand where you are coming from. I am lucky to be able to have both a 2015 Mustang GT Performance Pack and a Miata. If you are to get a Miata I recommend the soft top over the RF. Being in a Miata club the RF owners i have talked with regret not getting a soft top. The RF has wind Buffeting at high speeds with the top down. it also weighs more and cost around 3k more. Plus you can't get a roll bar. I'm just speaking from experience and in the end it is all up to you.
Not really. It's not an alternative to ceramic coating. Waxing will only work on gloss wheels and will only add shine temporarily. Break dust is harsh, and I'm not sure the wax will hold up for long. It's one of those you pay for what you get.
@@WorkzGarage no I mean it’s a different shade as it not matching the rest of the car. Have you had it since new and have you noticed it’s gotten different over time?
Your Miata looks great! Are those the Rev9 black chrome emblems? I just purchased a new ND3 grand touring in machine gray (my fav Miata color) and I'm trying to decide between black chrome and gloss black for the emblems. I think the dark chrome looks better on the grand touring trim, but in pictures online it doesn't look quite as dark as I'd like it to be, but in this video it looks plenty dark. Everyone does gloss or matte black emblems on these car and I want my Miata to stand out a bit more, but still maintain an OEM+ appearance.. Nice job on the detail. I love detailing my vehicles, but my back isn't in great shape so I can't do all the bending over anymore. I need to get one of those lowboy seats on wheels.
It's needed per my tuner Justin with Mazda Sause Tune due to the new tune. He told me not to touch the gap. It's at whatever an R35 GTR takes. The colder plug will help dissipate heat in the cylinder head better. When adding power through a tune or hardware, at some point, colder plugs are needed.
I have thought about the BBR cams. The one thing I found is that the HP TQ numbers they claim are not honest. Don't get me wrong, there is a gain, just not as big ad they say. I already have a header, so I would only need the cams.
Drove w the downpipe from cs and stock exhaust for about a year - don’t know what I was thinking. I figured it wouldn’t show many gains because my second ride is a 6.4 Jeep that’s procharged w headers. Anyway, Just installed the 80mm exhaust and the diff is night and day. W the throttle response issues most tuners have w the turbo and premium I was needing to use highest octane Fuel to feel any sort of boost effect like the car used to have. Now plus fuel actually seems to work fine as the engine can breathe w less back pressure it seems too (maybe it’s just the summer time I dunno). The corksport graph on the turbo down pipe is also confusing if you read it - it shows two colored lines that are green or blue but the key of the graph says thick vs thin lines . It’s confusing to read. I wish I put that exhaust on years ago, w the downpipe it is like a new car lol. Downpipe w catback def worth it, downpipe alone : Nothing at all for anyone wondering - let me save you time in thinking about buying a downpipe alone! I wonder if adding colder spark plugs would help things w the turbo now? I know that procharger recommended that when installing their kit.
Performance wise wider/better tire and wider wheels would also help on the looks. I'm installing 245/40 Kumho Ecsta PS71 on 18x8.5 +35 wheels next week. Also window tint will help in the looks and heat management. Waiting to receive my Corksport SRI.
@@WorkzGarage some old Fast wheels I can't remember the model name, was on my Altima coupe, using them until I buy new ones. Looking at Konig Hexaform in bronze, but that wont be until next year.
How's the NVH on the motor mount inserts compared to when you first installed it? Also, 235/40 size tires are the closest to the stock wheel dimensions other than the width. I'm also planning on buying wider wheels, specifically konigs or Enkei. Konig wheels are extremely light, I think hypervrams are 15 lbs each!
It's getting better but still there. Also, the 245/40s are actually closer. Check out this website. www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc?tires=206-45r17-235-40r17
@@WorkzGarage oh yeah you're right. One other thing though is width and fender rubbing on lowering springs. I know for a fact that the eibach springs with 235/40 +38 have no rubbing issues with a flush fitment. Not too sure about 245/40, but I think at a +45 offset should be equivalent to the other profile/width +offset
Hey! Great video as always. I own a 23’ Mazda 3 turbo in poly metal grey. So far I have the Corksport SRI and turbo inlet pipe as well as the Corksport 80mm exhaust. I have also lowered the car on Cs lowering springs and have the carbon fibre Cs spoiler. I am currently running a tune from Justin and I have an LC500 pump as well as a custom catted downpipe on the way. Have you dynoed your car with the downpipe and tune yet?
instantly voided his warranty lol, but hey the progress is looing very good excellent video brother. i really appreciate you guys and Sause tunes for pushing the Mazda 3 T , i really cant wait for the big turbo a numbers over 300HP people wanted this to be the new Mazda speed and i think you guys are inching it closer to that, but be carful because the rear diff cant handle much trust me.
Ya, I'm not going to take my 3 that far. I have a Mustang GT as well. My Miata is about adding a little more power and a lot of handling. My Mazda 3 is improving it in general.
The glass black is oem. Optional ground effects. The added functional aero that is dull black is from Verus Engineering. You can check out my other videos if you want to see them being installed.
Definitely Need to make a video on the turbo Mazda 3 LC500 pump upgrade. I actually bought a used fuel pump assembly for a turbo Mazda 3 that was wreck to use as a simple swap out. I also bought a new LC500 pump straight from Lexus dealership. The guys over there told me that it’s best to buy from the dealer because and only because the older model LC500 had a recall on the pumps that will fail. The new ones are being sold from the dealer so whenever you get one there it’s the new one that’s not recalled.
nice mod! question I will be purchasing a verus diffuser and we have the same exhaust. How many inches did you cut from the left and right panel and what did you use to cut it? Thanks!😊
