Part of it is that I have a pretty good PC, I also only set the graphic to 'normal' with no extra visuals to give it a little bit higher framerate.

I think this tutorial still works for the updated Gen-6, but I haven't made any skins in a while, so I'm not 100% sure. As for a Gen-7 tutorial, I have been wanting to make one, but just haven't really been able to focus enough to record one.

Not really. The whole point of the trucks is that they are slow, because it lets the AI actually be able to follow the paths.
