🪸 Dive into the Mesmerizing World of Reef Aquariums 🐠
Hi, I'm Dmitry 🇨🇦, the passionate aquarist behind Treasure Corals and creator of AquaticLog. For over 20 years, I've been immersed in the vibrant and captivating world of reef aquariums, sharing every step of my journey with you. From the tiniest polyps to the most majestic fish, my channel is a deep dive into the art and science of reef keeping.
This fascinating hobby comes with many challenges, in my videos I document my ups and my downs, things I did well as well as my mistakes. I also share all the lessons I've learned over the years, products I use and coral husbandry I practice.
Hi dimitry, I experienced the same thing as you, I tried to find a solution on youtube and found this video. Did you finally find the problem? If so, what solution did you do? How long did it take until everything was over? I hope you read this, now I'm at the stage of wanting to give up, and there's only a little hope left 😅
So i'm planning a house renovation (in the next 18/24 months and as part of that will be adding a custom aquarium. Will be 126.5 x 126.5 x 65cm... so around a 1000l in total with an overflow in the middle of the tank, providing me with 360 degree viewing. Will be following this with great interest, lighting and flow is something i think a great deal about (closed loop etc). Currently considering the Phillips and the Stratons had not considered the AI blades so will be keen to see how they work out.
softies and gorgs are what I'd do in a tank like that. Zoas should be fine. My 20G SPS nano has all the stuff you'd find on a 200G SPS tank. Pistol shrimp and goby pair, cool crabs and snails that'd get lost in something bigger :)
many have mentioned iso box, i also recommend a small mirror. he will be busy with himself get hungry and worry about food. They are kind of over hyped in the aggression department. I have had mine for about 4 years, its about a foot and it has become peaceful. I do not deny food, there is ALWAYS algae on a clip, always!
Not to my taste, but damn that is one hell of a store, love the lighting, the layout, the level of attention to detail, if you were in the UK i'd be visiting on a weekly basis!!! Congrats, hope the hard work pays off! Edit = Scrub the "not my taste" this is an outstanding shop, the attention to detail is off the charts, amazing job!
Beautiful dimensions, im just looking at a 4 x 4 custom build with a central overflow so that it can be observed 360 but this has challenged my plans, perhaps i should reconsider.
Some of my fav zoas/ palys is rasta, orange bam bams, agave, gorilla nips , magician, pandora, candy apple ,eagle eyes, king midas, pink minefield, halle berry, gator eyes, blow pops and im planning on getting utter chaos, and friuty loops
Getting "Viking reef" vibes! Not to be mistaken with vining reefer. Viking reef is of my favorite reefs an lit by metal halides. There are vids from 2016 and 2018. A must see if you haven't seen it!!
Dimitri the tank looks dull. It needs more light. Most people just crank their lights up to 100% and have the most success. Those blades don't compare to our sun.
Hey Dimitry. Have been following you since the Winterfell and Pragmatic Reef days. I must confess that back when you used T5s your tanks were always spectacular with growth and colors, and you never seemed to have any issues. Not saying this to put you down, but rather to entice you to perhaps make an experiment and try T5s again, either on this tank or in a separate one. As I said once, you have the Midas touch for corals. Lets bring it on 😊
Hello. I know you went to a tank crash a few months ago. All my SPS are bleaching. Do you have any idea what I can do? The parameters are all normal. What a great tank looking better every time
sorry to hear this, my suggestion is to do a copper test using hanna copper checker, that was the reason for my crash - I had one of the powerheads crack and start leaching some metals into the tank
The digi will figure itself out, give it six weeks in the new biology. I bet the polyps get fluffy again if there’s really nothing pestering it (inverts?).
Are some or all of your SPS plugged into the rocks such that they can be readily moved? B/c, I saw the green slimer (if that's what it is back left) move at one point (probably when a fish hit it).
@@TreasureCoralsit's a shame they're so aggressive they're look so beautiful swimming with one another they're spiral is enchanting but Idk if it's considered fighting
You can also throw in a large bloched anthias cause mine keeps all fish even my clown tang specifically in check and he also chases my copperband cause he’s always in the way but my clown tang would never bother my copperband
Put sohal in clown tang tank after 3 days of clown tang getting acclimated and once they become friends you can put them back in your display.mirror is good on all my fish but my clown tang cause he’s too smart.your tank is huge for two baby fish soo they will be fine when adding them back to display.
Hi there, been following to channels for some time now. And I am looking for some help from you if you can. I have a waterbox marine x 90.3. I am looking at upgrading my lights I have order 30” Ai blades 1 grow and 1 glow. Was thing of adding a 3rd would you go with another grow or glow? Looking to run a reef tank, lps and possibly some sticks sps. Look forward to hearing from you. Thanks
Forest Fire Digitata: You might try increasing the magnesium. In this Frag Garage tank interview linked below, the reefer claims his Forest Fire shows signs of stress under Mg of 1400 (he uses the coral as an indicator for low Mg). There is a 70 or 80 ppm difference between this aquarium and your farm, so it seems possible.
