Strangely a state government in Australia (New South Wales) is trying to force return-to-office rules. Are they wanting to reduce headcount or are they working for the landlords of those office buildings? Governments need to be innovative with tax revenue collected. Property taxes are so lazy and 18th century. Times are changing.
Agreed! Same thinking happening in Canada and the United States. It’s also a major stressor to have billions in real estate that tax payers are paying for or literally just sell it and move on.

having shifted from office to remote work two years ago, I see remote work in the Philippines continuing to expand, but with more companies likely adopting hybrid models. The flexibility has been a huge benefit, especially for accessing opportunities beyond our borders. However, with the rapid changes happening lately, balancing remote work with in-person collaboration could become more important to keep up with the evolving demands. Thanks!
They are trying to reduce their employee size but have already had too much bad press from the rounds of layoffs.. Look into which companies have hiring freezes and also talking about office mandates.
