Just finished up the build for this and I’m getting massive amounts of torque twist. All I’ve done is some testing on my kitchen floor and the rear right corner just sinks to the floor under any throttle. When turning left the whole truck leans to the right. I can’t imagine this being any good on the rocks. Did you experience this with your kit? I don’t know what’s going on honestly.
@@HighhScore I didn’t ,definitely be sure you’re shocks are full and that you’re drive train isn’t binding or possible incorrect gear placement in the transmission.
Great video. Who ever told you about the offset is correct, the width of the trucks being the same doesn’t matter. Which ever truck has the shorter axle with the bigger offset wheels will have more scrub and you are loosing steering width that truck.
Scx10 cost less , if you add up all the extras you need for a silly redcat.. redcat should stick with on road and bashers i suppose. Axial has tons of cheap aftermarket..
I always enjoy the videos, I’m disappointed that my sister moved from Cartersville after my brother in law passed because I would have been able to possibly come crawl your trails. I do remember her taking us to a place called The Mounds(?) it would have probably been a great place to crawl 🤙
But if the ruptures are taller and you put them on the portal truck it's going to raise the center of gravity even more and want to throw itself over even quicker I mean if you measure you know from the ground up up to the like somewhere similar on the trucks I'm sure you'll see that that portal axle truck is taller
Go to the right but a lot of times I have found if you turn left first get yourself up just a little bit further then make your right turn sliding over into that gate😊
So I don't run the bigger stuff I run the small stuff but something I noticed with the megalithic is the lugs how tall they are and how stiff I trimmed a millimeter off of them on the smaller set of tires so I guess it would be about 2 mm off on a bigger tire and it really helps to Performance
Great video I really enjoyed watching them and guessing which one was going to be better i think the redcoats portals and lower center of gravity was the determining factors what do you think makes it the better truck?
Nice video my friend ❤❤❤❤❤ A very creative idea ❤❤❤❤❤ I look forward to seeing your designs. Congratulations on your journey forward /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
It’s amazing that 2 sets of tires that are so similar in tread pattern from the same manufacturer act that different, that little height difference really played havoc on the straight axle🤙
3rd gate problem with the portal rig was probably the more overdrive it has...more overdrive makes the rig slip easier in the back on sidehill. Also the portals are wider, combined with your Negative offset wheels, it does not have more clearance as someone would think.
@@Backyardcrawler...Stance has 24% and Vrd Straight Axel has 6,5%. Also the portals are wider, combined with your Negative offset wheels, it does not have more clearance as someone would think. Btw, amazing backyard you have 👌
@@Backyardcrawler anytime, love to see what you have going on, and I really enjoy videos from people who actually speak with an accent that’s real similar to mine 😂😂
@@Backyardcrawler LOL, my wife describes me as “Stale as 2 day old cornbread, that a few seconds in the microwave and a big glass of buttermilk wouldn’t even refresh”
