No worries on it starting working again! Mine did the same. Our tenants said it wasn't working, I bought it home to fix it and it worked without me doing anything! I took it back and it didn't work again! I've replaced the switch. Thanks for putting this video up, saved me a few quid.
Quick question my DC 14 stopped working is it possible that the motor could be burnt out or is it always the switch?? I guess I will remove the switch and see how it looks
Hi Mike, I would start with the switch first. Also if you have not reached out to Dyson, I recommend you check with them and see if they can provide you a part for free. I was able to get the whole cyclone for free on my DC65 vacuum.

I replaced it and nothing happened. I looked and one of the prongs you plug the new button into is burnt and black. Do I need to replace that? I’m not an electrician if you couldn’t tell
Scott Bennett scott if you have put the wires wrong together basically i will just tell you this. If your in the UK brown to brown to the switch. Blue to blue. But in the US i think it is Black to black to the switch. And white to white
