In the summer of 69 I had gotten Band of Gypsys which was recorded on the nite of new years eve 68,69, in Sept 70 we read in the newspaper that JIMI had OD ON Barbittuits I just find hard to that it's 52 years ago since he been gone ,PS I still got the Album I will take to my grave.
95% of this gig is a whole step down tuning except for 3 or 4 songs.. That's the reason it sounded darker than we're used to,also Page used wayyyy to much distortion at this gig to mask the down tuning...
Most likely the most inspiring, creative and certainly most original electric live guitar lead ever and that would be difficult to choose if it wasn't for this recorded performance .
