The first plane to take off under its own power was created by Alberto Santos Dumont, on October 23, 1906. A Brazilian who carried out his experiments in Paris. That's the story.
These men believed the impossible to the degree their detractors couldn't talk them out of it. This belief was downloaded into their subconscious mind which could care less about some truth or reality, it simply acts on the belief to manefest it into reality, it simply figures it out. Once the Wright brothers opened that portal of reality, nothing could stop the evolution of aircraft we see today which is absolutely phenomenal. This all started from someone's unflappable belief, a thought. You have a thought, you got GOD, you don't have a thought (apart) from GOD, you have a thought that IS GOD...
On August 14, 1901, Gustave Whitehead, a German-born immigrant living in Bridgeport, Connecticut, was more than likely the first to achieve manned, self-propelled, sustained flight, somewhat under control, but did not have 3-axis control. He steered the machine by shifting his body weight from side to side. Some time after this flight the Wright Brothers visited Whitehead under the guise of financing his efforts (reported by a man who worked for Whitehead at that time). My theory is that during this visit, Whitehead shared some ideas which led the Wrights to 3-axis control which they tested and built into their 1902 glider. Add the fact that there were no photos of Whitehead's #21 machine in flight - only photos of it on the ground. And zero original source documentation such as journals, letters, telegrams, etc. In 1903, the Wrights added an engine and propellers to what was essentially the 1902 glider (they never considered propulsion a big challenge), and on December 17, 1903 invited a few spectators and had the high-end camera at the ready. Kids, if you want to own the patents and make it into the Smithsonian, document your work... Thoroughly.
Met this guy a long time ago. Was wearing my SR-71 shirt, I'm not sure where but we went to this museum and he was Volunteering I believe, and he told me that he flew in the plane at that museum or maybe it was another (it was the SR-71 with two cockpits he mentioned there were only two). It was fascinating the way he spoke, told me things like how you could look at the photos taken by the plane, and you could look at a crowd of people and count the shoelaces. That there was a documentary that got played every year on the History Channel and there was a minor bit of misinformation about the fuel levels because of the speed and or height the plane flew at, and that he and other retired pilots would always try to get changed via contacting them but they apparently never listened. Sad to learn about his passing, this man is a legend.
Santos Dumont real airplane had total project visibility and scientific methodology , that kite from those brothers made in middle of nowhere is a kid joke 😅😅😅 This is Science !!!
Went from less than 1000 feet to 24 miles in just under 2 years, and 10 years later aircraft were in combat ! Thats amazing how quickly the technology was improved upon once that initial step had been made!
I have planned on going for my bachelors in aviation management after i get my A&P late next year.. does anybody know if itrs true this job pay well above 150k a year?
I can’t remember the video name or site , all black & white film footage , all military , I’d check there first , military footage of first two person flight / Wright Brothers , you’ll find it
@@irenekatefernandez their acceptance rate 100% 😅 U can already tell what kind of school this is. Totally recommend u to go other schools like UND. Or university of Waterloo or western university in Canada r super good options as well. Just not uvu
@@AbdullahAli-os9tb sure. A friend of mine goes to uvu and he told me that there r way too many students there as they accept everyone, so his flight trainings won’t finish during senior year making him to stay at uvu for about 5 -6 years. USU is a lot better if ur trying to find one in Utah
Gustave Whitehead actually flew 2 years before bicycle brothers did in their brown pants flyer. And why did They have to use a catapult too get their "flyer" up in the air for their demo for the military? and why didn't they use wheels instead of skids...? for great inventors who worked on bicycles and made the motor's allegedly, they seem too be lacking in something I just can't quite put my finger on it. 🤔
Well considering Whitehead's last plane of 1908 wouldn't fly, and he also designed helicopters that _also_ wouldn't fly, I wouldn't be quite so quick to disparage everything the Wright Bros accomplished.
I was a mathematics major for a year, later changed my major to something I actually am interested in which is aviation management. My goal is to become an airline pilot but with a degree in said subject it may help, the experience should come as time progresses... my concern is if i'm approaching this correctly or not. I've enlisted in the Air Force as well. Just scared at how the outcome of that degree may coincide with any other varying factor.
I have done my bachelors in computer science. Can you please help me which course should I do in my master/PG so that I can apply for UAV management post.
One of the several questions: Why Smithsonian did not recognize the Wright brothers as the first to fly an airplane till 1948? ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-n3XvSCF-djw.html
The Smithsonian Institution recognized the Wright Brothers’ primacy long before 1948, and the institution previously promoted the fable that Langley’s _aerodrome_ flew first. The matter had nothing to do with the claim for Santos Dumont’s primacy, and you’d have known that if you’d ever done any genuine research.
@@sanpol4399 their is several I witnesses and a photo also the pure science presented by their trial and error -wind Tunell testing, wing dihedral, propeller design effective rudder, and wing controls .....
Hii sai I'm from India and really looking forward to join some management course especially aviation management. I'm completed aeronautical engineering in my bachelor's. So can you suggest some path because you are also an aeronautical engineer
@@cardinalRG please give me solid proof about your favour.dear when shiva kar bapu invented any flying object that time india had slavery period .British rulers crushed our all thoughts and inventions.world accepts indians intelligence that's why in current time google, microsoft.addobe facebook etc are lead by indians.

Jim Shelton talks about this in one of his talks, he says that this pilot said "Oh F**k" when the handle broke off, but he was a good Mormon and wouldn't normally or easily say that.
I have heard this story many times by Gil (my dad) and his navigator, Frank Stampf, and what he said was "well FART, Frank". Maybe you could tell Jim...
It it going good. The work is relatively easy, not complex to understand but it is a lot of work. Lots and lots of learning, memorizing etc. If it’s ur dream u can achieve it without a doubt.
@@donyaa2376 well in aviation management you take normal courses like management, math etc while taking flight classes, if you decide to take flight ofc. So college classes are ok for most part. Math takes up time. Classes like aeronautics or aviation meteorology are relatively easy. But as mentioned. It is lots of constant new learning. Not hard to learn but big amounts of new stuff to learn. Flight school is also lots to learn. They want to make sure you know everything that has to do with plane maintenance, what to do in emergency etc. Flight in general is safe because of all the information one must know memorized in case of any scenario.
