I was NOT expecting that #1, especially on a list where it's above some of the most widely hated songs of this year like Body Like A Back Road, Look What You Made Me Do, Tunnel Vision, and Juju On That Beat. I don't hate Bad Things with a passion but I do consider it to be very appeal-less and the vocals on the pre-chorus do get on my nerves.
I’m super glad you did not put Back In Time or We Run The Night on the actual list. I feel like one of the few people who will actively defend both and I always had a fondness for the latter that I’m sure most people don’t. But on the flip side, I appreciate giving mentions to Drank In My Cup and 5 O’Clock (even if both are DHMs), two genuinely under-hated songs that deserve to be talked about more. Edit: Have you listened to Oath? It’s a hidden gem I wish more people knew about and deserved WAY more for how good it is. I’ve been replying to a bunch of people on RU-vid these past few months that they should go listen to Oath, and everyone should know about it.

I actually like “Unfaithful”. I understand your problems with it, and I know on some level that it’s not a good song. But I have nostalgia from Hearing it in middle school.

DHM1. I hate Beyonce's music in general. DHM2. This song is whatever. I don't really care for it one way or another. DHM3. This song is more bland than white bread. DHM4. This song just exists. DHM5. I've said it once and I'll say it again. I hate John Mayer. DHM6. This song is terrible. But it's to cometic for me to really hate on it. DHM7. Very mediocre DHM8. More mediocre music DHM9. Again, more mediocre music. DHM10. Ugh, I hate this song with a passion. And I will never understand how this song became a number 1 hit. It's so boring, bland, and forgettable. Like I didn't even remember this song until I watched this video. And I've got to say, I hate this song even more now than I did before. And I really hated it before. 10. I love this song. But I can understand why some people wouldn't like it. 9. I don't like any song from Pharell Williams, and while I do like some Ludacris songs this doesn't happen to be one of them. 8. I don't like any dance rap or ringtone rap of any kind. I find most of it really annoying. 7. This song just exists 6. Yeah, This song sucks. I've always hated The Whisper Song. It's probably one of my least favorite songs from 2005. And the fact that this guy made a worse version of a song that was terrible to begin with is mind boggling to me. and one more thing before I move on. Whispering in songs has always been one of my pet peeves in music. I cannot stand Whispering in songs. There's only ever been a few selected songs that I can tolerate it to an extent. But overall, I'm not a fan of that stuff. 5. I don't like beeps in any song especially when it's prominent like in this song. but even if it didn't contain any beeps, it would still suck regardless. 4. I don't like the milkshake song, but I'll listen to that song any day before I listen to this piece of garbage. 3. Don't like this song one bit. I consider this guy's voice to be more grating to my ears that Chad Kroger and Scott Stapp's voice combined. 2. This is by far the worst song of the year. I cannot stand this song at all. 1. This song puts me to sleep. Other than a few songs I thought it was a pretty weak and forgettable year for music.
Drake started from the bottom and kept diggin...... and that's how we ended up with Search and Rescue, a song that sounds so painfully mid and douer that it's very likely every single part of it was generated with AI. Actually...... imma say it: Drake is basically the black Adam Levine. Started from the Bottom was his Moves Like Jagger, and Search and Rescue was his Girls like You.
I’m apparently one of the only people actively defending The Time (Dirty Bit) (which I give a 9/10) and Backseat (which I give an 8/10; the 2012 rerelease deserves to be hated, though). For now, I’d put Dirt Road Anthem as my worst of this year, and I agree with most of what you put here, although there are disagreements that I’d make on what should and shouldn’t be there. But in the end, this is your personal list and you can dislike whatever you think is bad.
You do a good job at explaining why you think each song on this list is bad, and I agree with most of the entries. But how on earth is Better Than Me - Hinder not ONCE mentioned on this list? If you were to go back in the making, would it have been mentioned at all if you remembered it? It genuinely is the worst song of the 2007 year-end list, and while I understand you may have forgotten that it was even on said list, I still genuinely think it needed a mention. My biggest disagreement would be Wind It Up, especially with it being #1. Granted, personal stuff may have made you make that decision, and I do not deny that most people hate it, but I’m a proud defender that’ll give it an 8.1/10 in the end (fight me). In that sense, I agree to disagree.
The problem with it being eligible for such a list is that it wasn’t on the 2009 year-end. You need to realize that these lists TST makes are based on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 Year-Ends for each year.
So having a song about protecting America from riots, murder, theft, and violence is racist. But Lil nas x giving Satan a lap dance is glorified as "art."🙄
