I swear doing something as simple as tying a knot is immensely difficult when you have aphantasia. The first time I tried to learn it took me over an hour and even now as a 30 something i need to reference a tutorial and it still takes dozens of tries. Takes a ton of effort but i guess enough practice will solve it.
THIS was the method I had learned; since having no need for formal or business attire, memory/routine were failing me; I was grappling with some new ties; other methods featured here were confusing; ie Windsor knots etc; somewhere, somehow, I would miss a step & feel like a total idiot; inconsistent results. In this demo, the instruction is to start with the short side on the right, but the video shows the short side is on the left of the demonstrator. Something's amiss.
Move slower please, and make sure to give the instructions before you begin the motion, otherwise its hard to comprehend in time and you end up having to rewind
I use a smaller and better looking knot imo called the Tim. I call it that because I figured it out on my own when I was about 12. Start the same way but with the underside of the tie facing out. Cross the narrow side hanging on the right above the underside of the wide side and hold that spot in place with left finger and thumb. Raise the wide side with right hand and fold into neck loop on right side so it's now dropping down from the inside. Cross it over the front on top of your left index finger and go around the back of the neck loop on the left side then drop it down the hole in the front where your left index finger is. Pull tight.
