this game is so buggy its unbelievable.. you know how hard it is to do a varial heel into a manual? it just doesn't wanna participate with you, i even feel like simple kickflips and heelflips are a tad bit difficult cause any mere imperfection you do a varial flip instead of a kickflip. When will there ever be a real skate game with real vert as well. Seems like nobody is creating good skateboarding games..... smh
This game was a rough patch like Pro Skater 4, some great new things added but it wasn’t smooth. If Activison had done one more game but cleaned up all the hiccups and made it vibrant again like Pro Skater 3 & THUG 2 it would’ve been 1000x better. This game went backwards, even walking off board feels clunky and not smooth to where you could bust sick combos like in the THUG series, all the levels were so grey and felt doom to where it’s depressing compared to maps like College on THPS4 & Boston from THUG 2. Little things like that were part of what made the series amazing but after AWL the new mechanics and just weren’t smooth or user friendly and they kept adding new features to make it more real like Nail The Trick and Rigging etc. which is great in perspective but they could never execute it right which is why P8 and PG are so hated and why the whole franchise just fell apart.
This game has become such a joke. Even if they do bring out all the stuff shown in that 'coming 2023' trailer it still wouldn't get me to reinstall the game. It's done. I' m not supporting them. I would refund in a heartbeat if I still could.
If you have only played Mirror's Edge ( :D ) and this, you should try Free Running (Steam) or even Dying Light (for a single player zombie slasher with parkour (but no so technical) experience).
Dude they talked us up so much before release and I was so hyped. I ONLY enjoyed the game I played on release because I thought the devs were sincere and we're going to make it WAY better.. but I was wrong and I was scammed..
Damn. When SkaterXL first came out I was so stoked. The modding community was so sick, even those early maps where people were making spots by the courthouse because you couldn't load new maps were fun af. At the time, the game had so much potential to be the next big thing with skating/gaming but it's seemed to have really lost its touch since. I haven't played in a couple years now, but it seems like the community hasn't been very happy with them lately, and it's easy to see why.. the game hasn't really improved since I was last playing, and even then it was mostly mods keeping it interesting
now imagine using this game adding skateboarding,bmx and rollerskating into it! we would have a freaking dream game ngl jet set radio with parkour added to it but as simulator!
That'd be pretty sick but im also kinda glad that we have this option of game now ya kno. I wouldn't want the direction for the parkour game to go too far off. Also what you described is basically Bomb Rush Cyberfunk! Definitely check that one out!
Could never get the hang of the controls but then I jumped ship completely after they removed the speed glitch. Really says a lot that even he seems to be done with it. This is straight up depressing to watch.
i played XL on ps4. i stopped playing awhile ago but even when i was playing, i was forcing myself to have fun with it. i have since got a PC but.... now that Session is here... yeah, i'm never playing skater XL again anyways. Session is sick.
The guy did a whole open world map. Just the fact you can see all the buildings in the distance and can actually access those streets is crazy, I mean many of those parks and squares are the size of a regular map on their own, it's mind blowing
what's crazy is that he said on his discord that the map was originally supposed to be twice bigger but he had to scrap a lot of areas because it ended up being just too much work for one person

it looks astounding! Very good looking game. 😎 did they ever say what city this was and since when did pedestrians speak?!! I actually have this disabled cause it's out of control on the four they appear in the ground heads moving through grass that sort of thing. as for the skater animations couldn't be anymore 😄pleased! 😊
